Buy a 2020 MacBook Pro Now OR Wait for Apple Silicon?

Here's my review of the 2020 16" MacBook Pro with the new Radeon Pro 5600M Graphics card. Should you buy any Mac now or should you just wait for the recently announced Apple Silicon Macs?

To sum up my thesis, if you bought a Mac in the last 2 years, you should wait for the new Apple Silicon. If you have an older device, it's worth upgrading NOW! You can't put a price on time spent waiting and Apple will still support Intel based Macs for the next several years until the transition is complete.

I had a early 2015 macbook pro 13 base model. Been using it as my primary computer. For EVERYTHING. I HAD to upgrade and I bought the 2020 base macbook pro 13 with upgrade to 16gb RAM. I'm not regretting the decision at all.

Thanks for giving your honest opinion! I’m rocking the 15” Touchbar too, and as tempting as it is to upgrade. I’d personally gain nothing (yet). The 15 has not skipped a beat.

I like the points you've given in this video. The fact that Apple quantified the transition to be in 2 years, waiting that long to have your machine is a waste of time. Bought my 16" this June before Apple announced Silicon in WWDC. I did not regret getting one, worth the money. Then if in 2 years, got some bucks to also transition to Silicon, I'll grab the chance, by then, I think most of the software and hardware complications has been solved.

Just replaced my 2015 MBP 13 with a new one
last week and very happy! Both CPU and SSD 2-3 times faster. Keyboard great, and hell... I even like the touch bar. Having a noticeably better time developing websites. Do it now if you need to.

I just got the 16 inch yday, couldn’t resist with the i9 2.4, 32gb 2tb and the 5600m with hmb2. This is a big upgrade from my old 15inch MacBook Pro from 2018 it’s really got the oomph

My 2011 MacBook Pro just gave out and I’ve been debating on waiting for the Apple silicon.. I guess you’re right.. I could get all kinds of work done right now instead of waiting for something that I don’t know when I’ll be able to get.. let’s see if they launch it on the 15th

Just bought a base 16 inch yesterday. No regrets. Time is money. The time waiting for a new one is just not worth it. That time could be spent creating content that you wanna shoot and edit quickly to help grow your channel.

I've got a 2013 MBP which is struggling with Premier Pro. I've been holding out for the 14" Macbook Pro but when that didn't happen I was weighing up waiting for the new Apple Silicon (hopefully 14") next year. But I cracked and I ordered a 16". Wasn't sure if that was a mistake and I blew my money but watching videos like this helps me feel like I made a good decision haha.

Possibly could be called “S13” for Silicon🤷🏾‍♂️ I’ve never owned a Mac before because I find better value in pc but I own the iPhone, watch and ipad and really enjoy the seamlessness and thought I would go for it this year when the new one drops
