Man... The precision here is overwhelming! I enjoy playing this song on an acoustic guitar, and I used your previous version as an inspiration and a tutorial. Not going to lie, this is probably my very favorite Coldplay song, and I didn't realize that you'd been "gone" until recently. I'm glad you're back, and, being able to sit here and A/B the older and newer variations, there is so, so, so much going on here, that I'm kind of intimidated.

I saw your updated cover of Sparks, and did a vocal cover to it (I made sure to give you credit and linked back to your video in the pinned comment of that video, so everybody has to scroll past it). I'm not going to pretend like I'm talented or have a gift for this kind of thing, but it's kind of a big deal for me, because it got almost 300 views in four days.

(I don't do it for the views, I do it for the therapeutic catharsis - there's no post production. I just pull an instrumental up on YouTube, and sing along to it into my phone. I'm not trying to convince anybody that I'm a better singer than I actually am -- there's no delusions of grandeur.)

Now, I say all of that to say...

This performance of We Never Change is so good and the dynamics are so challenging - to try and sing that first verse quiet enough to not overpower the instrumental, and singing the rest loud enough that it doesn't get overpowered BY the instrumental.

That's solid musicianship, man!!
