Comparison of 2-stage gas powered snow blowers in wet and frozen snow. Here's two similar blowers both by Powersmart, one is 24" wide with a 212cc engine and the other is 26" wide with a 250cc engine. Both have heated handles for your hands! Let's see how they fare against several inches AND a few feet of snow. Here's an the unboxing, assembly timelapse, run down of features and specs, demonstration on "regular" snow as well as a hard frozen snow bank. PowerSmart provided the products for the review.

great narration and camera work. Oh, and great comparison! I was planning on buying the 24" but I didn't know about the bigger one. Now I will have to research that one more. Again, great quality video, I know that takes a lot of time, good job

Great comparison! Just next time turn it off if you are reaching in that auger. ❤️

Used to have a powersmart 24" 212 and it was easier to start than my 28" Ariens SHO. Powersmart engines work very well.

I'd never purchase one of those, but I do like the fact that you can turn the headlights on and off. I can't do it on the Ariens snowblower that I own .

I just bought a PowerSmart 26" with 212cc engine, a mashup between these two I guess. After using it for a few days, it runs and blows snow just fine, but I wanted to buy spare belts but can't find parts anywhere, even from PowerSmart. So beware, when they work they're fine, but when they need service you may be out of action for months waiting for a single belt.

On feature you forgot to mention on both of them is the single-handed mode: If you hold the auger lever and hold down the drive lever, you can let go of the auger lever and it will stay down. Similarly, I think you can be in drive and just "slap" the auger lever down and it will stay down. I forget, since I got mine (the 26" one) late in the season when my upstairs neighbor's old snowblower (which we both use) died, hence I've only gotten to use it a few times.

Although I ordered mine through Home Depot for $750, and for a 26" 2-stage snowblower with a 250cc Briggs & Stratton engine, LED headlight, heated handgrips, and remote height control lever, that's extremely cheap. Good luck finding even a very basic Toro without a headlight for less than $1, 000!

While I only have had the chance to use mine a few times so far, I was extremely impressed with the performance and quality. I was very hesitant to get a non-brand-named one, but the Briggs & Stratton engine was a HUGE selling point for me, as I swear by them for lawnmower & tractor engines.

I will admit that mine had a very small dent on the front of the chute - one of the lower corners is basically kicked in just a bit. It might slightly affect "cutting" into the snow, but otherwise will not hinder the performance at all. Also mine did not come with an oil bottle, so I did have to run out and buy some, but for $5 I'm not exactly upset lol. There was oil on some of the packaging, so I wonder if possibly it was pre-oiled but leaked out due to FedEx not having a clue what " ↑↑↑ THIS END UP ↑↑↑ " means lol.

All in all I am extremely happy I got mine, and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I have the Power Smart 24 inch with the 208cc engine. last year we got hit with 2 major snowstorms here in Buffalo NY. First was over 6 feet and the second was over 8 feet. My snowblower ripped through the snow. Not gonna lie, I blew out at least 5 shear pins LOL, but that was after the payloaders went by and all the thick snow and ice buried our driveways. Here is a heads up!! If you buy any Power Smart snowblower, look in your parts book and order a new auger belt, you will thank me later, trust me. The one it comes with is some cheap recycled rubber garbage belt! It will stretch out with in the first year of usage. I had to adjust it every time I used it, until it wouldn't even engage anymore. Ordered a new belt, adjusted it once, and never had a problem since. Simple to maintain and enough power to get the job done.

Great review. The 24" in Calgary Canada at Home Depot is $700. I couldn't find the 26" model on their website, I"d like to know how much that one is.

Seems like many issues on Amazon reviews for 26" model. Oil drain pipe is often damaged in shipping and many arrive dented. Others had engines lockup and missing parts. Some satisfied customers but many more with problems and extremely hard to return due to size and weight. Glad yours worked out but I cannot see me ordering one as the risk of damage is too high.

Good comparison. I'm tempted to get the 26 incher. 30% off coupon right now from Amazon. The delivery part is the only thing that's hindering me from purchasing. Don't want to deal with the stress and headache of something that's damaged.

Is the belly pan metal?

Did the 26” one throw the snow any farther than the 24” one? That’s my primary need.

That Briggs n Stratton motor is the same used in Toros and Ariens I believe. Right now there is a $400 difference between those models. Do you believe that the 250 Briggs and the increased sturdiness is worth that difference?

I looked at these in a store. One thing I see is they have a smaller auger than some of the others on display. All the new one of any brand have smaller augers than my 20 - 30 year old snow blowers. The 26" at our local store has the 212 cc engine. I don't see any difference in the gearbox of the 24" & 26" on display here. Not sure what I'm buying yet but I need something that will pull itself up our up hill driveway cus I'm getting too old to push our push type snowblowers up hill. My old big 2 stage both need fixing and I'm tired of fixing them.

I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I needed to ask you a question. Is it possible to enable upnp on t mobiles 5G router for a better gaming experience?
