My top 10 fountain pens (2021)

It can be only 10 out of ~90 fountain pens, it's been hard to pick which ones did make the cut and i'm happy to be here and share this with you all. Let me know what is your opinion in the comment section down below - i need your feedback.

Lot of good stuff Emy, before we even talk about the pens. Complicating the list and not being cured of your infatuation with red pens made me laugh. The pens in your list are exquisite. I would love to see a pen from Leonardo in that Thunder celluloid. Spectacular!

Dear Emy, what a glorious collection. I nearly drooled on my phone watching the video.

While I’m here I’d like to thank you for sending the Leonardo Art Deco in time for me to have a very happy holiday after such a stressful year. That was a happy surprise in itself given how year end shipping gets clogged without COVID messing things up. I wasn’t expecting it to arrive so soon.

But even more stunning is the pen itself. It not only writes beautifully, it feels unbelievably good in my hand. And it’s so lovely to look at. I know it may be odd that just having and holding a pen could make me so happy, but the pure joy of it is something I will treasure for a long time.

Awesome picks, especially the top 3! They really made me drool! That purple Thunder celluloid is stunning! That pen but with Rhodium trims and the non-existent jowo number 8 size flex nib would be my suggestion for your next creation.

I was a little surprised the Omas Blue Angel didn’t make the list, or the original two Corsani grey stacked celluloid Viscontis over the Watermark but maybe that’s all just personal taste!

I think I need to go through my collection and sell some to make space for some of the exotics like the Visconti for ASC, LB5 and maybe some Omas Arco Ogivas or 360s, or something in the Burlwood celluloid. I saw a beautiful Burlwood Oldwin at the Madrid pen show at the weekend! That was a sight to behold and part of me still regrets not pulling the trigger!

Emy, I was struck by your self-description as a pen collector. You called yourself a "custodian". I have the same feelings for some of my autos (Jaguar E-Type and 420 sedan), Leica cameras, watches. and pens. Your list also prompted me to make my own lists, and there will be two pens which I got from you on them: the Leonardo Desert Rose and the Ciro Matrone Sangiovese. Another run of the Leonardo MZG Thunder? Yes please!

That pen ticks so many boxes: great color, oversized (with a big nib to match), comfortable section, a filling system that balances capacity and maintenance (unlike other, more exotic filling systems).

I have a Furore Grande in purple; it is one of the most beautiful pens in my collection. The only thing that could make it better would be if it was MZG-shaped instead.
