The guy that yelled at his pregnant fiance is so obviously the a-hole it's sad. She gave a perfect explanation as to WHY she did not want to get up and go search for the dog, and his reaction to her saying no was to call her heartless and a bitch? He cannot be serious.

That door slamming story is the first time I've ever heard of a parent taking away their kids door and agreed with them.

First story: There's something off about how he found out. His coworker knew what his 22 year-old daughter looked like well enough to identify her in a strip club? Are guys really focusing on the dancers' faces?

My best guess is either OP doesn't want to admit he went to the club himself or the coworker got turned down by a dancer, stalked her enough to make the connection, and decided to make trouble.

1) the dog gets out EVERY WEEK and his solution is spinners??? A PRODUCT FOR SQUIRRELS!!!
2) forcing a pregnant lady with severe fatigue and morning sickness to get up and search for a dog that does this ALL THE TIME.

I'm legitimately afraid of what will happen when that child learns how to open a door.

I have chronic migraines and my dog escaping really would be an emergency, and my family STILL wouldn’t dream of yelling at me to go look for him if he escaped when I was in the middle of one. These stories make me genuinely sad for the people involved and thankful for my own loved ones

The door slamming kid must be going through something. It seems pretty clear that she is doing this on purpose. Slamming a door takes effort and she does it every time? She is trying to get attention.

The curtain was a brilliant solution. She still has her privacy, it prevents the slamming, and she learns a lesson.

I really appreciate that OP installed curtains to still offer some privacy after taking the door. Even so, the daughter might need therapy, because it sounds like there's a deeper issue here.

Yesterday at therapy, we were asked to think of a happy place, including what sounds we could hear. I pictured myself in bed with my boyfriend and a Vincey video playing in the background 🥰

i was gonna be really upset about the parents removing their kid's door, since my mom did that to me and i know how violating that can feel. but then they said that they put up a curtain that could act like a door and my anger dissolved. they didn't do it out of disrespect of their daughter's privacy, they did it as a genuine solution that could help everyone. they still care about their daughter, they're just tired of her behaviour.

Dog story; two words, dude: Long leash. Tie the leash to a hook/wall/tree and attach your dog to it, problem solved! It really isn’t that hard.

NTA to the parents who removed the door, but I gotta wonder if maybe that kid is going through something. She's obviously doing it on purpose if nothing iswrong with the door and it happens everytime. She obviously needs attention that her parents aren't providing by just removing the door. Maybe instead of focusing on the door, they should focus on her and why she feels the need to slam the door like that.

Corgis and Heelers are both herding dogs and both have high exercise needs. My guess is the dog is sorely under-exercised and needs a lot more activity. If OP can't provide that, they should find someone who can, because they're only going to have less time for the dog once the baby comes.

2:45 you can buy things to combat slamming and restrict doors. This works by either slowing it down or softening it.

6:25 YTA. My own experience of pregnancy is awful, and your asking someone further along then I am to do something that physically will make her sick when she should be resting.
