I completely disagree. It's just based on if THEY feel like giving it. Too many people are wasting their monies and are going for visas with good intentions of going back home and are being denied. That is wrong and should be stopped. These people should be reevaluated and the consulars need to actually look at people's supporting documents. People have paid a lot of money to organize and travel for their interviews and the least they could do is assess people information properly and thoroughly.

Feel confident!!! How????
Visa Officers are sometimes cruel in decision.
Unfortunately many applicants worldwide have same view about this system!
1) Reasons for 214b general terms and not particularly specified.Incase you act politely. You get turned down and advised to reapply.
2) No matter your level of confidence and answers to visa officers questions. The decision can’t be turned down/challenged.

How do you make them feel confident?

With all due respect Ben, if that was the case, all the genuine ones would get their visas. It works on that little time they get to make a decision which I can understand is tough... But it's not that simple... There are some who go by mood...

Hi Ben, I applied for my third J1 visa (approved previous two times - with interview). My third application was requested to be sent in with no interview. I was refused on 214B - intent to immigrate. This literally broke my heart as I have no desire to immigrate. The program I was applying for would enhance my career. I will be reapply but I must say my level of anxiety has spiked tremendously and I’ve cried because I’ve always played by the rules…it’s also been a week and I have not received my documents back from the embassy.

My visa interview was so unfair the consular did not give me time to show my supporting documents of work and I was to travel to see my family in the US who I have not seen in more than 3 years because of the covid pandemic and he gave me a 214 b I have never felts so disappointed and it was frustrating

I’m an international student in China and currently working on my undergraduate thesis. My study will end in June.
I was accepted to attend the 27th Youth Assembly summit at United Nations as a delegate from August 12 - 14.

I’m from Liberia 🇱🇷 and trying to apply for my B1 visa before returning home in June. because I might have the time to apply for the visa in my home country, due to the wait time.

What are my chances if I apply for a visa here in Guangzhou China? I have been getting a lot of helpful information from this Channel.

People usually say that all depends on the officers mood. Is it possible that an officer will issue visa to the one who is not qualified enough but who behaves very confidently and speaks perfect English? Does qualification really matter? Do officers make an exception to those who they simply like?

The officer did not give me any chance to speak.
