Forgot to include that the U.N. in 1948 divided the mandated territory called "Palestine" which was not the original name of the territory but rather a name given to "Judea", the home of the Jewish people FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL (title of authoritative book on subject - see footnote*). The name of "Palestine" was used to describe a large area of the Middle East by some occupying power whose name at the moment just slipped my mind but easy to check which occupying power it was, whether Greek, Roman, Ottomans, Turks, etc.). The Jews never ever left on their own but were murdered, exiled, conquered and/or occupied for about 1800 years. There was never a time when there was no Jewish community there, though other people came and left through the centuries. Arabs started living there (in any numbers to speak of) in the late 19th century when they came to find work in the Jewish community, verified in sources which includes Mark Twain who paid a visit in late 19th century and described the scene.
*THE DEFINITIVE BOOK ON THE SUBJECT, "FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL, " by Joan Peters, out of print and currently almost impossible to obtain, is THE book which tells the entire true story in its entirety, nothing but the facts. She wasn't Jewish and set out to prove the case for the "Palestinians" but found out there was none.
