Idea on the Christmas quilt: put the pear tree at the top, then turtle doves, and so on stacked to build a tree shape to the row of 12 lords a leaping for the tree last row.

For the Star Wars quilt it would be cool to have the words bigger on the bottom and get smaller towards the top like the movie intro!

I want to make my hubby a Polaroid quilt using photos he has taken over the years. Tall Tales is also on my wish list.

Hi Nikki. I love love love your channel so much. I am a new subscriber and a sort of new beginner sewer. I grew up sewing with my mom who was a professional seamstress. And I’ve been away from it for the last 27 years raising my family and finally have a sewing machine again and I’m so excited. I was wondering if you could make a different tutorial about your Bible cover but change the Bible cover to have a zipper closure as well as the handles. I like to keep prayer cards and other special things in my Bible and I don’t want them to fall out. I recently found some beautiful religious fabric online that I just purchased and I think will make a beautiful Bible cover. If you make the new Bible cover tutorial, I will send you a photo of my Bible cover when I finish it. Thanks your channel is my new happy place. Lots of love to you and your beautiful family.

I love these ideas! I think the 12 Days of Christmas one is my favorite. I’m anxious to see how you do it.
I’ve only made a few simple quilts in the past, all made of 5” squares. They were mostly hit or miss, but the recipients were happy, and that’s what matters.
I really want to learn how to quilt the correct way, because I want to make each of my grandchildren a quilt for high school graduation. The oldest is only 10, so I have plenty of time to learn! Thank you so much for all your inspiration!

I was thinking of you as I was helping to pack up my parents house to move them to a retirement community. There were so many tubs of books and I pulled all of the Agatha Christie books that I found. They are in my "to be read" pile. I just received the "Sewing Chicken" sticker and put it on my sewing machine! I love your channel and get so much inspiration from you. I want to make some smaller, wall hanging quilts with words, sayings on them and some that I can switch out for each season.

I made a double Irish chain quilt for my son. It was patriotic colors but they were tea died so they looked antique. I used the Quilt-in-a-Day pattern. I loved it because she uses strips of fabric to put it together. It didn’t take long and it turned out awesome!

That topknot quilt would be gorgeous in Christmas fabrics.

Maybe, use the tan colors for the background and all the different shades of blues for the different bows. She gets her colors and you get to make the pattern. Being a fellow reader, have you considered a bookshelf quilt? It is great for personalizing the spines and you can add other personal items onto your book shelves, like a globe, a sleeping cat, a vase, a plant, etc.

I just found your channel, and it was the prosperity chickens that caught my attention. I can't wait until my bells come in so i can sew up 3 of these. One for me and two to give away. Love your channel! My quilt list is so long, lol. But most are in what i call project totes with pattern and fabrics. Ready to be pulled out and sewn together.

My younger son is 6'6" (older is 6'3") so I've done a few LONG quilts! My younger one was so elated to have a 'couch quilt' his size!! Yes, it looked a bit 'out of sync' since it was long & narrow(er)...but melted my heart when I saw how excited he was!! I'm getting ready to make him another, this time for his bed.

I trust you and I would like to see the 12 days of Christmas quilt with YOUR artwork on it for each day. I think you would have fun doing it and the ideas would come and be FABULOUS. Trust me, you will do a fabusous job and besides I want to see what you come up with without depending on a fabric with all the days on it. YOU CAN DO IT!

That’s a great idea to make some of the quilts as gifts, but what I have done is some of the quilts I have wanted to make, I just made smaller for mini wall quilts and also table runners or toppers.
These I change out throughout the year, so I have still made some of the patterns on my list and used some of my favorite fabric, and I have fun decor for my home and not “too many” quilts.

You made me laugh when you stopped talking to watch the squirrels. This happens to me with quilt projects. I'm going gangbusters on one and all of a sudden "squirrel!" And off I go starting another project. 😅

Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter has some more modern but traditional/country patterns. Her blog is pretty great as well. Her Crastsman pattern is in my queue. I am working on several things at once as usual. My problem is I am an art quilter with a still vibrant passion for making bed quilts. Unfortunately, my husband has dementia and is demanding more and more of my time so quilting is limited. But I still try to sew or do something sewing related every day just to stay sane!
I love your channel and your fish quilt 😊

I have 3 on my bucket list and they are simple quilts. I am currently working on the single Irish chain. I don’t know why I thought it was so hard when it’s just a 9 patch and I’m strip piecing. The next one I want to do is a Trip Around the World the Eleanor Burns Way. I’d like to do a bargello quilt. I am like you FPP is my pallet cleanser. I really like to make tiny houses on my list is improv. I always loved your show. I don’t have anything to add because I’m still newish and I’m like you I get bored if it’s the same block over and over in regards to the Hawaiian quilts, yiu can applique by machine. I don’t do handwork all my appliqué is done by Machine. That’s where you can use all your fancy decorative stitches.
