“Fanatec with all its years in the market has established an extensive ecosystem of (OUT OF STOCK) sim racing products”

I would really like to see Moza come out with some budget wheelrims, I feel it would make it more budget friendly.

Being able to play at consoles is a huge plus from Fanatec. Although most of us prefer PC, it is cool to just plug in the base to a PS5 and do some GT7 with your other pals. It's the only reason I went for Fanatec instead of other DD brands.

I have one thing I want to add to this review, I ordered the R9 and the GS wheel 2 days ago. I had some issues with completing the payment (which was an issue on my part, Moza had nothing to do with this) and because of this I had to shoot them email. They responded to both the emails I send over the last 2 days, within 12 hours. I have only heard positives things about Moza's customer support, cant say the same thing for Fanatec.

The thing I hate the most about Fanatec is that they don't sell through retailers while their own shopping experience and customer support are so shitty. Everything takes forever to ship and they ship via FedEx in the US. If something went wrong, it takes at least a week before anyone replies and asks for something I've already written in the support ticket, and then wait another week…
But Fanatec is the only one that offers PS5-compatible direct-drive bases, so I had to cope with them… MOZA products look fantastic, but I literally can't choose them for the same reason.

A big thing to consider which isn't mentioned in this video is the quality of customer service you can expect from each company. I haven't heard much about Moza, but Fanatec's customer service since the release of the CSL DD / GT DD Pro has been downright awful. 2-3 weeks (or longer) response time for support tickets is unacceptable when paying this amount of money for a product.

Fanatec built these products to a price point that was previously unheard of, and they knew they'd need to cut corners to do so. Build quality and reliability took a hit as a result. Fanatec failed to adequately bolster their customer service department to handle what they undoubtedly should have known would be a sizeable increase in support requests, and now they are paying the price with unhappy customers and poor word-of-mouth.

Sure, Fanatec equipment is great...when it works. But when it doesn't, and you need help...ask yourself before buying if you really want to take the chance that if you (God forbid) need an RMA, you'll potentially be looking at 2-3 months before getting a working piece of equipment back in your hands.

You say the fanatec has a better feeling to the forcefeedback but the moza can be improved through future potential software updates so even if it’s not quite as good as the feeling of the fanatec it could get better given time

Waddup man! Love your content. Been trying to get into sim racing and I appreciate all the depth coverage. Random side note, but you should add chapters to your videos. Cheers!

Great vid, was waiting for this one. The Moza GS wheel would sell me on the R9 if a had a PC. Console compatibility is really the thing I'm looking for. Moza is apparently in talk with Sony to get certification, not sure how it will go. Waiting on the Asetek DD announcement too, it should be console compatible. Anyway, we are living interesting times for this hobby and industry, so much choice on options.

I'm really happy with my upgrade from my old G27 to my Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition, but damn I really want to get into the Fanatec ecosystem at some point.

I feel like a major thing to mention is that for less than $800 tax and shipping, you can get the DD Pro non boost bundle that comes with the base, wheel and simple peddles. Where as with the Moza, if you want the base, wheel, and peddles, you are spending $1300 before tax and shipping.

I have had my Moza R9 and GS wheel for a few weeks now and i am loving it, The Pit House makes it so easy to dial in your own settings and as for the wheel price? if you compare the V2.5 and add a podium shifter and quick release you will be surprised about the price as the GS already comes with quick release and dual paddle shifters. In the end im happy whit what i received and enjoying it

Moza will improve the ffb with in time though firmware updates there just very new to the market. In canada the moza R9 with GS rim is cheaper than the csl dd bundle. Fanatec csl dd also has a reinforced fibreglass shaft that goes from the motor to the qr shaft instead of a metal one that a lot of people have had break maybe something fanatec will change out in the future to metal.

Buddy just got me a r5 and cs wheel for my birthday, moza has came a far way sense this video. If it’s comparable to his csl dd I’ll be fine

Great video! Love the production.

Do you know if the Haptic FFB quality difference is due to hardware limitation or firmware limitation in the r9?

great video exactly what i needed getting into sim racing. Would this still apply even when fanatec has dropped their prices on cls?

I chose the Simagic Alpha Mini over all of those and I love it, would love to see your review on it!

Fanatec DD pro is what I went with, 100% due to platform compatibility. The GT DD Pro fully functions on PC PS5 and Xbox. This is the most important thing to me with a DD base as I don't want to need another wheel base or to swap wheel bases around when using various platforms.

The Moza rims were that expensive 9 months ago? Dang, now you can get their cheapest rim for 180€ (ex.vat).
