It can be confusing trying to figure out which direct drive wheel you should buy. The Logitech G Pro, Thrustmaster T818, and Moza R9, are all trying to cater to a similar audience and are all great direct drive wheels for sim racing, but the question remains, which one should YOU buy?

Update - the TM T818 is going to be offered as a bundle with the SF1000 wheel, so it does technically come with a wheel now, assuming you want it.

I wanted to get a Fanatec combo but it was always out of stock. Upgraded from a G29 to G Pro. No regrets. That was 2 years ago.
Still no regrets.

I absolutely adore my G Pro wheel and pedals, and can't wait for a proper formula style wheel to come out.

I've had my moxa r9 for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. Leagues better than my previous t300

I got the G Pro a few weeks back and is my first Direct Drive Wheel. Love it and can't wait for a shifter and different wheels.

I have the Logitech G pro and I use it on ps5. I feel so much more immersed and in control with trueforce (GT7, ACC) than I do without it (F122). Genuinely feel disconnected from the car without it after having used it. Hopefully Logitech comes out with a formula wheel soon and f123 adds trueforce support.

What a collection!!

I went DD Pro base with mclaren wheel for native compatibility on Playstation, Xbox and pc. Extremely expensive in Canada

I’ve spent the past two years building my rig up on the tm ecosystem just cuz of its mid range cheaper but still competitive feel which saved me lots so I think the t818 is for me, I don’t wanna have to restart with buying new wheels and whatnot.

Shorter-"don't buy t818 for drifting"
I had a t300 with both belts bearing mode(by the way I really recommend it I makes big difrence), with all eco system from thrustmaster, so I got a t818, and first i was blown away how it works, and how good and quick the response is, but by the time I can figure it out how to set it up for drifting(99% time on sim drifting). One of the biggest problem of t818 is it smells like hot electronics after a quick session if it's intense like drifting and it's simple drivers, you just can't get It how u want it to be, with damper about(20-50%) the whell was to sponge, and without or little bit about(0-20%) it was to brutal(performance mode was the best). The biggest problem of this base(t818 for drifters) it's his constant torque, you can make it smoth like it should be with wheelcheck and lut for Assetto, but then the most of the details are gone. So you need to choose a pill. By the way flex on my with sparco wheel was very little. Soo I order moza r9 with cs steering wheel and spr pedals with load cell, I just download the moza pit house, choose drift preset, changed only force for about 3, 5-4nm to make sure I'm driving all 3 wheels at exact same force, just open Assetto and drift like I was driving on this wheel all the time, it's just simply works. I linked the corners I never used to link that good. Moza just works and if u want you just can tinker the serting to your liking. Moza quality is like 2 levels above thrustmaster. Making my top 3 for the t300, t818, moza r9:
sim racing
1.t818 (the best, fastest, and informative ffb)
2.moza r9(i think I can get most of it by the time I learn the pit house settings)
3.t300(just the belt driven wheel.)
Drifting:
1.Moza r9 (it just works how it needs to and you can change it to your liking)
2.t300 (with bearings mode or without it's just good but the details are a little bit too late, to slow and soft)
3.t818(in other games it works better it's not as constant force or brutal like in assetto, but for me is the best sim drifting game, so the force is too constant and brutal, and after damper to spongy and slow so if you want to buy t818 for drifting just pick something else).

Nice to hear someone who's informed by moza not just saying moza is the best, all 3 are faultless in their own ways as you've shown, I've used the logitech and the moza and agree, moza for the price unless you're console but the true force of the logitech is just unbeatable

The G Pro now has an adapter that lets you use their shifter I bought the adapter off Logitech £40 and shifter off Argos £35 had no issues at all with the Pro wheel or pedals or the software.

I have the G Pro wheels and pedals and play GT7 in PSVR2. The immersion is as good as it gets for today’s technology. I can’t wait to see how things advance for sim racing in the next 5-10 years. Hopefully affordable force feedback cockpits to complete the experience.

Trueforce in G Pro is such a game changer what the hell. I 100% didn't think it's so good. Just WOW.

Excellent work putting this video together my friend! This helped me solidify my choice -- the LogitechG Pro wheel. Cheers!

I have a G Pro and an R9. Gave the G Pro to my son because I like the unlimited rotation and ability to use aftermarket wheels on the R9. Not to mention the software is more in-depth which makes it easier to adjust for FFB-intensive games like BeamNG.

❤ the Pro. No experience with others though. Can't go wrong when going DD as long as you get 7nm at the bare minimum.
