Mystery finally solved! We have had Apple trees purchased from Lowe's for seven years. I have never really gotten apples from the tree. There has never been many blossoms on the tree or the few we have had look like what you have in your video. Thank you for your invite and expertise. A big hello! I live just south of you and south of the National Guard base in Harrison Twp. I really enjoy your channel and representative of the Mid-west. Lol! There is Laura from Garden Answerr in the Pacific West, Erin from Impatient Gardener in the cooler Temps in Wisconsin, and Jenny & Jerry from Gardening with Creekside in the South. You all are an inspiration and a delight to watch. Keep up the good work!

I had a problem with apple maggot flies ruining my apples for years. I tried different sprays, but nothing worked. Now I put barrier bags on every apple. It's alot of work, but I now have a beautiful harvest every year!

We have a Granny Smith and we still have this issue. This year we sprayed it with a clay solution and that has helped somewhat

I'd turn those apples into vinegar. Then I use the vinegar to clean, drink and kill weeds between my river rock pathway. I enjoy the content you bring. I'll definitely be spraying my apples on time next year. Will this help with pears as well??

Dust the base of the tree from the trunk to a foot out from the drip line with diatomaceous earth. It will work itself into the ground and lacerate the larva when they emerge.

Great video. I'm going to share this with my brother in law because he has several fruit/apple trees.

Great information! This is the first year my trees have produced apples and I'm seeing the same dimples, pits and scars on my fruit. Good to know the cause and some potential solutions. Thank you friend to the east!

Great video, my gala and Fuji apple trees are very young so I am no where near fruiting stage yet. I heard about the kaolin clay for the plum curculio, have you ever used it?

Gnarly infested apples make great hard cider if you're into that thing.

All we have are Grant Smith and gala. Granny smith only one to have app, es yet and they all have black spots on them. I have never sprayed the trees, mainly because of wind. Will try your suggestions kn spray next year. And will get rid of the apples on the trees this year. Thanks for the tips.

Perfect timing and very helpful. It was thorough and clear. I just bought some fruit trees and am now buying supplies for next year. Hopefully you have videos for peaches and plums.

How much of the neem oil and pyrethrin do you add to water? And how often do you use that and dr. Bronners? Is there a spray schedule you stick to as a preventative?

Question: Does the Dr Bronner’s Insecticide soap work on Gypsy Moths for peach trees? I have these terribly too. Truly needed the information on the lumpy apples. I am new at raising fruit trees. Only had them 3 years so no good fruit yet. Just a few.

Hey my friend thanks for telling me this in the spring when I could have sprayed, oh well meat is so expensive now I'll take the protein!

After spraying Dr Bronner’s Insecticide soap, is the fruit safe to eat at harvest?
