"... not a piece of art" cracked me up! 🤣 I used a folding sterno stove and sterno during the Texas grid-down situation in Feb 2021. I was inspired by your video before it happened and prepared in advance. I sauteed a cod fish fillet as well as some scrambled eggs. I made various sized cans with the holes and they worked just fine. By the way, the bottle opener you used to punch the triangle holes is often called a "church key". 🤣 Before pop tops on cans were invented, it was the way we opened tomato juice, pineapple juice and beer cans. can is too tall. flame should be closer to the top, i think. can out an empty catfood can or tuna can in there upside down and sit the sterno/canned heat or alcohol stove on top of that. or, I used a higher-than average lid to put under my sterno and/or alcohol stove. not sure above popcorn, though. The lid, I used was a plastic peanut butter jar lid and it never melted even a tiny bit.

Sterno is not for cooking huge amounts but in an emergency with adequate air flow you can bring 2 cups at a time of water to a full boil. Best for heating up canned goods (i.e. beans), soups, drinks, pre-cooked foods in small quantities.

It is a WIN! You said the magic word it can make coffee, boil rice, fry an egg. A lot of the stoves I see online I can't make because they are too complicated. This is simple and it works. Do you have an simple solutions to heating a room in the house without carbon monoxide poisoning? I need something simple that can heat a room.

I take a can of sterno on every hike. They are good for quickly heating up a cup of instant coffee.

Someone on YouTube said use a side can opener cutter and completely move open the Sterno top! So instead of the little opening on the Sterno you've got the full can of Sterno open and the lid will snap-on to save your Sterno from evaporating..

Great vid! Say, what can you use if you can't get your hands on Sterno? Would tea light candles work just as well?

It's a bottle opener and can mostly the sharp end is for canned milk pop two hole so you have air flow

Old soda pop bottles like radars grape neih is what use round part on but old beer cans say pre 75 we're not pop tops you used that sharp end like the milk pop holes so it flows
