The title pretty much tells it all. In this video I do my first burn test of my Vulcan Safety Chef Camp Stove that I bought on eBay. I don't have any of the Vulcan SA-Fuel cans so I'm using Sterno in one of my Lifesaver tins. I let the stove burn for ten minutes before I put it out. There was still some Sterno in the can.

I'm reloading some of my videos from my old channel when they pertain to something I'm doing on my new channel. Before I can reload I do re-edits because the music police marked the original videos, "Video blocked in some countries." because of some of the music I used in them.

Please keep in mind that at the time I was still learning how to make videos. Plus the camera I used then sometimes made my breathing sound very much like Darth Vader.

Thank you for watching my videos,
Hiram

Great, a video with comments enabled. Thanks for all the reprised videos. I agree the loose alcohol would not do well snapping the stove in place or moving it but your wicking stove is a great alternative. Not as big of flames but I'm sure it would get the job done. No way I'd backpack with this and if I'm car camping I'm bringing my dual fuel Colman two burner camp stove. But this would have worked too. Thanks.

My local army navy store has them for $40. Might have to give it a shot

It's an interesting stove, evidently very solidly constructed (as many things were back in the day) and clearly capable of providing quite a lot of heat, but its height versus footprint (i.e. centre of gravity with a cooking vessel placed on top.) would cause me a little concern. If the pot stands also created a wider base when these were opened out (as with the Firebox Nano et al.) I would feel a little safer. Perhaps this is an unfair comment because I doubt that backpacking/fieldcraft was foremost in the mind of the designer.
