Honestly, no matter what the interaction between Obi-Wan and Anakin after order 66, I always feel its best for a redeemed Anakin to stay silent when it comes to Obi-Wan or anyone else wanting to forgive him and accept that there's nothing he can do to change the situation he has caused.

I know this has been overdone, but this is hopefully enough of a spin. What if, when Anakin went into the room of younglings, he realized he was being manipulated by Palpatine and went back to the light. He'll have already led the clones into the Temple and killed a few Jedi by then, after all, so it's a slightly different situation than the standard 'What if Anakin didn't fall to the dark' story.

I assume that the difference in how Obi-Wan was attacked is due to Cody not immediately complying and so Obi-Wan was either out of range by the time the other clones obeyed or had reached his destination.

Given Anakin's good character as a child, I wonder if Sidious tried to train him if he wouldn't have betrayed Sidious and then gone to join the Jedi. Having just played along until he was strong enough to destroy the Sith out of a desire to save people from them.

Come to think of it, isn't it more likely they'd want Obi-Wan to be the interim Chancellor? A man who is above suspicion and doubt and has a huge reputation for his diplomatic prowess and the loyalty of the clones.

Imagine if the Jedi hadn't idiotically locked up their combat and advanced Force knowledge due to the Ruusan Reformation (I kid you not, they actually did this, even with advanced healing techniques). Just one door guard probably would have annihilated the 501st.

I think the 501st would have the advantage in skill over the Coriscabt Guard, the Guard are basically glorified Military Police, they may have better training, but they rarely see actual battle, while the 501st saw it constantly, I think that’s why they were able to take the Jedi Temple even with a good chunk of their unit on Mandalore and had enough survive in the end to serve Vader for a little bit in more constant conflict.
