Are you going to build this kelp farm? By the way, check out these links!

For anyone who plays on bedrock, after you place all the Redstone it didn't trigger automatically just go to each level of the farm and break one of the kelp at the observers level and that will get that row going then repeat for the next 2 levels

hey! i made this in my 1.21 world on Java and it works PERFECTLY ‼️ thank you so much, and i absolutely love how you included bits that are important for players who are creating this in survival (example: the temporary infinite water source while placing water in the structure). absolutely amazing!

bro this was so perfect. i needed an easy kelp farm for xp and this is perfect. whats best is it produces its own fuel so its truly self sustaining

You explained how to build it so well. So many Minecraft farm tutorials have the person not really saying anything that they are doing and building it so quickly that you cant keep up, but not you.
Keep up the great work!

Merci ! Toujours fonctionnel !

MERCI ENCORE <3

Anyone who wants to know if it works on bedrock. YES!! IT DOES!! The only thing is that, after you place all the red stone go inside to any kelp and break it. Do it in all the levels, and it should trigger the pistons:).

I think it would be a good idea to connect the pistons to a redstone clock instead of using all those observers. And if you have similar farms nearby, like bamboo or sugar cane farms, the same clock could be used to activate them all.

Great tutorial, thanks ! One suggestion : for people building their farms underground, it would be very useful to add dimensions at the very beginning of the video !

For everyone having the "floating kelp problem", I figured out a solution, and it's pretty simple (I did it in Java 1.20.2 btw, in a survival server w/ my bf):

Problem and cause: When the piston cuts off the kelp from the highest level, it doesn't push them into the waterfall because placing the water and kelp as shown in the video, it may create a "stable water flow", which doesn't push the highest layer of kelp into the waterfall, causing them to float, which decreases the farm efficiency. The video is not incorrect, but since it was made in 1.19, some update may have affected the water physics in the meantime, that's why this problem may happen with some, but not all players.

Solution, step by step:
1. I "reseted" the whole water step (without sponge, I placed dirt until it dried all the levels of water)
2. Starting the water placement, place it bucket by bucket as in the video, but ONLY on the observer blocks, leave the 2 counter blocks remaining empty of water on each side, and it will create a "gap". You can place a glowstone or light pumpkin block here, to light up the farm a little and let you see it working on nightime. It won't affect the next steps

3. When planting the kelp, also DON'T plant them on these corners, as he does in the video (since they'll have no water on them, you won't be able to plant them anyway) - but just don't or else it will perpetuate the error

4. Plant the kelp ONLY in front of the pistons, and repeat it for all levels

If you don't care about the "aesthetic" of the waterfall, you can just end it here, but if you're a perfectionist like me, you can fix it:

- Plant only TWO levels of kelp, for each level, this way, the waterfall will be shaped accordingly, without affecting the water flow. If you want it even better, plant the three levels, one by one (since it will automatically activate the pistons, because the redstone is already placed), and then the waterfall we'll become beautiful.

Hope that can help anyone with this issue, and in fact, it's an awesome farm for fuel, loved it! ❤️

I’m playing in Java 1.21.3, and when the kelp grows to 2 blocks tall, it makes the water in front of it extend forward by a block, which makes the harvested kelp get stuck somewhere in the levels of kelp instead of following the flow down, as the flowing part of the water is too far from the kelp. To prevent this, place the glass blocks directly in front of the growing kelp.

Mine has gotten a lot slower over time, do you know what I can do to speed it up again, maybe replanting the kelp?

My kelps don't float up to the surface any idea what to do?

For those watching this to make this a fuel source :

I thought this can sustain my super smelter which has 32 furnaces but it doesn't. I built this version 22 blocks wide and 6 layers of them which equals to 132 slots of kelp but it is still very slow. I suggest you build a spruce logs farm instead. It gives me too many logs which I can smelt for charcoal and they keep my super smelter running for a very long time without refilling. Even if you build this at a smaller scale, I think charcoal is still far more supreme as a fuel source.

If you build this for XP and food source instead, you can go ahead and build this but mob grinder for XP and crops for food would be better and more resources efficient... But it's up to you because it's your world :)

It works for me but the rate of generation seems way slower than in the video. There is a big gap between finishing cooking the kelp and when more kelp falls into the smoker. Any ideas why?

The glass requirements were wrong and need to be fixed (I had this problem)
