How to apply OCI in 2023 I Minor Application I BLS Canada

Hello, this video is made for OCI minor application from Canada.
This video contains all steps you need to know.

Step 1
Submission of application online

Start new application and fill all required information as per checklist. Then upload picture and thumb print. and then upload supporting documents as per checklist.

CHECKLIST FOR ONLINE UPLOAD

FILL OUT ONLINE APPLICATION AND

UPLOAD SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

* CURRENT PASSPORTS
upload minor Canadian passport and birth certificate copy in one pdf.

* INDIAN ORIGIN PROOF
Both parents' 1st and last page of INDIAN PASSPORT scanned file in one pdf.

*MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
Upload marriage certificate pdf

*RELATIONSHIP CERTIFICATE
Birth certificate of minor with both parent's name on it- one pdf

Above documents are mandatory to upload

*ADDRESS PROOF
Both or one parent Driving License in one pdf.

*LEGAL STATUS OF PARENTS
Both parents WORK PERMIT/ PR doc in one pdf.

If you do not see any relevant option don't worry, make sure you submit all paper docs to BLS. Contact BLS later for uploading docs. You can reupload docs later.

Submit print out of the OCI application along with the supporting documents and Fee at BLS Center.

b.BLS INTERNATIONAL SERVICES CANADA INC. $7.4

COLLECT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.

1.FOR MINOR CHILD
a.CANADIAN PASSPORT COPY
b.BIRTH CERTIFICATE (parents name on it) COPY
c.2PHOTOGRAPH (SIZE 51”X 51”MM)
d.CHECKLIST (download from BLS)

2.FOR PARENTS
a.SELF ATTESTED NO OBJECTION LETTER & PASSPORT SIZE PICTURE OF PARENTS TO ATTACH 2
b.ADDRESS PROOF (Driving Licence) COPY & SELF ATTESTED
c.STATUS IN CANADA (Work Permit/PR card/eCOPR signed) COPY & SELF ATTESTED
d.MARRIGE CERTIFICATE COPY & SELF ATTESTED
e.PASSPORTS (front and last page) COPY & SELF ATTESTED

NOTE. FOR SELF ATTESTING DOCUMENTS WRITE
I CERTIFY THAT THIS IS TRUE COPY OF ORIGINAL AND SIGN ABOVE WITH DATE.

GO TO BLS OR SELECT PICK & DROP SERVICE WITH THESE DOCUMENTS.

GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR APPLICATION.

You will receive OCI after 2 months.

Thanks for the video. In the OCI application for Minor, I have 2 questions:
1. What should be the nationality of father and mother? We just got the citizenship of Canada in 2024 and got the Canadian passport a month back. but we were born in India and were earlier having Indian Passport.
2. What should come in the relation with the root Indian? As a father, I am applying for OCI on behalf of my son. We as a family moved to Canada 3 years back.

Just incase if your family member has OCI, and you want to say yes to this field
Have you/any member of your family applied for Overseas Citizen of India registration earlier? *
Say yes,
Both the reference number and date when applied is in the OCI booklet. Some ICO have in the first Page bottom right left, some have the last page and its easy to find will have file no starting with USA that is your reference number and date is the date of issue on the 1st page of the OCI booklet and that page also has the place of issue.
