A “localized” hydrothermal explosion at Yellowstone National Park sent terrified people running and forced officials to close Biscuit Basin, which contains several geysers, on Tuesday, July 23, parks officials said.
Dramatic video captured by Vlada March shows the moment of the explosion, which she described as a “once in a lifetime” experience.
The explosion occurred near Sapphire Pool, which last erupted in 1991.
“No injuries were reported and the extent of damage is unknown at this time,” parks officials said in a news release.

USGS spokesman says it has nothing to do with vulcanism, while standing in the caldera of a supervolcano.

Пару недель назад были там, всё было тихо и спокойно, смотрели гейзеры, ходили по этим дорожкам. Надеюсь там никто не пострадал.

That was quite the boom, i bet that was pretty terrifying for a few moments... makes me wonder what could happen next. Here on the Big Island, we had some incredible summit explosions back in 2018 st the summit... among many other things.

I'm sorry but I would still be running if I were them. It might just be the little one before the big one. Who knows? I would not be there to find out.
