These are easy to find here in Norway but NOT cheap😂😢
199KR NOK (about 18 USD) for 1 ration.
I still buy them tho, great for camping/hiking.

Just had that peach flavored drink the other day and it was hands down the best ration drink i have ever had. Just wow!

I always like the "Arctic/Cold Weather" rations. Freeze dried usually beats retort pouches.

"Rett i Koppen", which translates to "Straight into the Cup", is a civilian brand of instant soups and drinks that can be found in every grocery store here in Norway.

We pay around 15-21$ for these here in Norway with a 25% sales tax, and they are readily available online and in most wilderness and hiking shops...

Would still love to see you do a series for Consumer Meals like readywise and Mountain House. like going to Walmart or Costco and buying whatever Multi-pack they have.

I know many reviewers have done them in the past... but I noticed most have ads for the one they are reviewing...

Nice review. To bad these rations are hard to find and expensive. I would take this any day over a US MRE.
Thanks for sharing.

You can pull out the bottom ends of the meal pouch, makes the pouch stand better and you get the water easily into the freeze dried mix. Also, the notches in 2/3 up the pouch is to tear the top potion of the bag off, when the meal is ready and you eat straight from the pouch. You get your spoon down to the bottom, without sticking your hands down into it.

Very cool Nathan. Hope all are well. I have only lucked into one of these. It was awesome. Yours looks the same. Glad you had some fun. Peace, John.

The reason for the Bridgeford side was that it didn't need preparation. You could eat it and the blueberry bar if you needed the calories and couldn't heat water yet.

That looks really good. I’ll try and find one. Thanks for the review

Drytech the company behind real on the go and the Norwegian military didn’t agree on the new contract, so real on the go might not be in Norwegian mre from now on

Drytech do sell them on their store, they have the regular dinner not arctic rations ... so the dinner is cheaper and have about 600 kcal.... while that arctic ration do have 1300 kcal.

That was different to see a Brigford item in a Norwegian field ration.

I'd be interested to get your impressions on some Back Country freeze dried meals, made in New Zealand. They're readily available in Australia but not sure about in the USA. They make some great stuff, especially their freeze dried Cooked Breakfast.

Is customs still going thru the forgein MRE's?

Just bought my first French and Spanish MRE's and saw some reviews

Yeah its all available to the public but its pretty expensive. All is top shelf stuff and with matching prices, so if Im on a trip its not something for every meal.

Take a look at the camping section of every "outdoor" store you find and you'll be surprised at the variety of freeze dried meals that are out there. The popularity of these things has blown up with all the rations on socials and what-not. Might not necessarily be cheap but there's alot of companies making em.

That one already looks way better than the mountain house freeze dried meals
