As someone who plays this type of stuff on steel strings, i can say that despite my skin being way thicker on my left hand to try to play it, it still hurts

Me when I got my first electric. 2 months in and the calluses definitely helped.

the memories. I still remember the pain when I was a beginner playing for only 2 weeks straight and my fingers turns from pink to purple to black until I gained calluses and felt great sliding on the fret board.

I know this feeling. I play classical, acoustic and electric. The acoustic I use often just to keep my fingers strong otherwise it is a trap.

Getting older I almost regret selling my only nylon I didn't like the tone but it's so much easier and it taught me to play without a pic. Wrist injury robbing me rn damn it

I used to have a Flamenco style acoustic guitar back in High School that I was learning to play on. Something happened and the neck-support separated from the body. I was going to ask the teacher in my Wood Shop class to re-glue it with some wood glue and a tensioning strap to fix it correctly. My Dad beat me to it and ran a drywall screw through the neck support, into the block inside the body….

I. WAS. PISSED.
Kinda still am, honestly.
Like, he totally brute-forced a fix on a slightly damaged work of art like that…. Imagine doing something like that with a violin!

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Dad, he’s a literal genius in a lot of ways, but he’s still human and this is just one of those moments that his ingenuity outweighed his understanding of what he was applying it to.

I mean, when changes in ambient temperature can dramatically affect the sounds of your instrument, what sort of harm is a common drywall screw going to cause….?

Hendrix style guitarists not being able to wrap their thumbs around the neck of classical guitars 🤝 Classical guitarists not being able to shred as easily on acoustic guitars

I don't know about you guys but i love classical guitars, I would never trade it for steel.
