Bruising is one of the most common symptoms of leukaemia.

However, we all bruise, so how do you know when that bump on your knee or purple mark on your arm is due to something more serious?

Well, that's the thing - the signs and symptoms of leukaemia can often seem harmless. But if you find you're bruising a lot, or they take ages to disappear, or they're in unusual places, it's worth thinking: could these bruises be a sign of something serious like leukaemia?

Here, patients describe their bruising prior to diagnosis.

Thank you to these people who shared their experiences. For me it's easier to relate or understand from a patient than a doctor. I hope and pray to God all these people have beat cancer and living well and good lives. 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah, I keep getting bruises on inner thigh, and on my forearm and shoulder. Their not big but I definitely don't remember hitting those areas hard on something! Two weeks ago I had petechiae ( group of small purple pin sized dots, that looked like a rash) on upper arm.
