Approximately one-third of patients will report feeling weak or breathless as a symptom prior to being diagnosed with leukaemia.

However, because breathlessness has many possible causes, ranging from a cold, chest infection to lack of fitness or smoking, it can often be mistaken as harmless or simply as a sign of getting older.

I don't have leukemia I don't think, but I've had iron deficiency anemia for years and that also causes these symptoms with breathing problems. I just had 2 iron infusions for the first time ever and I hope that worked.

I had MDS (allogenic stem cell transplant 8/25/2020. Before that my hemoglobin would hover in the 5 range. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I would feel better after a transfusion but I was always tired. My Dr prescribed me Adderall just so I could work. I was a personal trainer and massage therapist and amazed that I was still able to workout and treat clients.
