So this could have been an alternate ending but it actually is included in the ending. Perhaps it’s open to interpretation but from what actually happened is they lived those 4 years in the paths (so in their minds in a reality basically created by Eren) just a few moments before Mikasa kills Eren. He’s the one who tells her how to get to him-that his main body would be in the titan’s mouth

That wasn't an alternate timeline. In the paths, Eren visited every one of his comrades. When he visited Mikasa, he lived for 4 years with her in the paths in that little cabin he constructed with the nice scenery. He lived with her to show her how much he loves her. He wiped her memory, but since she's an Ackerman, it wasn't permanent, and it started to come back to her.

The coordinate thingy is a mind boggling concept to me. Like how in the world founding Ymir created each titan transformation as it happens in the original timeline while she was in there having just a bucket to mold them? Also when Eren used the paths to communicate to both living people and titans to talk or manipulate them. Like these sound amazing to me but at the same time did not make sense. If the future was written and could not be changed then when was the starting point of him manipulating the events as if he was only an onlooker now from the original timeline. 🙀
