Supra gets BUILT TRANSMISSION and NEW CLUTCH: Marlin Crawler R154/South Bend Stage 4 Clutch

The 2JZ MK3 Supra has come back even stronger now with a fully built Marlin Crawler R154 transmission and a brand new South Bend Clutch. Definitely been worth the wait to get this car running on this setup.

I like the gear ratios in the R154 transmission and wish it were feasible to use the 1st gear for my R155 transmission, but can't due to the secondary/countershaft is a one piece unit unlike the primary/main shaft. The ratios of 2nd through 5th are so close between these 2 transmissions, but 1st is 3.95 in the R155 and the desired ratio is in the R154 with a 3.25. My application is in a supercharged 2013 Tacoma base cab to X-runner Jr./Runt conversion. Maybe someone will produce a replacement secondary shaft so the 1st gear problem can be cured. The R155 was used from 2005 through 2015 and I see some using it in drift cars and drag racing. Your Supra is quite the nice piece and the transmission build looks good too.

Great video. I read somewhere that that the southbend stage 3 endurance will hold 600ft/Lb. Did I read wrong? Is this what you went stage 4? Ty.

Southbend clutch? Indiana south bend clutch? Lol if so I have my old mk3 stored up in Michigan with a $950 south bend clutch (can’t remember which one though, years ago). Oh nevermind I see palm trees in background so your in the south somewhere lol
