The 2024 harvest is officially in the books! After 44 intense days, we've successfully combined over 12,000 acres of crops across our farms. This season has been a monumental effort from across the business. In total we have transported over 27,000 tonnes of crops off the fields.

This year marked the debut of our new combines, which performed exceptionally well. But as one chapter closes, another begins. With the harvest behind us, it's time to start planning for next year's crops and get back into the fields for cultivation.

Drone shots from the incredible @Tractorspotter

In this video, we'll reflect on the highs and lows of this harvest season, discuss what crops we should drill for next year, and dive straight into the next phase of farm work. Join us for a look back at our achievements and a glimpse into what's coming next at P.X Farms!

1975 and 1976 all but bankrupted me, I grew less than a tonne of wheat and had no grass for the cattle or to make hay . It was a nightmare, I had to sell all the cattle . The only good thing was, I had a wonderful bank manager, and machinery dealer, and they kept me going until 1977 which was a great year . I was also getting married and rebuilding the farmhouse . Ah, happy days .🤔🤔😊😊😊😊

The shots of the 4 combines and chaser bins were exceptional! Cannot wait for more content throughout the winter. Well done on completing harvest 24. your team, do you proud.

Well done to Graham for cutting 50 harvests, (incidentally my father is now on 65!) On the subject of oil seed rape, black grass only became a problem when the crops became thin due to flea beetle pressure. When we had neonics the crop was thick enough to suppress the black grass.

Started my first harvest in in 1958 at the age of 10 driving a international b450 on a bale trailer, finished harvests on a NH 8080 in 2003 due to chronic heart failure miss farming and enjoy your video's thanks.

In 1976 we got 8 ton from a 45 acre field of spring barley. We tied baler twine to the reel tines to try get the ears close to the ground. A lot of farmers stopped growing spring crops after 76. Age 11 then.

I’m feeling a bit down at the moment. But listening to James laugh is a real tonic 😊. Looking forward to lots of ploughing and cultivation footage.

Fantastic videos James, well done to all at PX Farms. I can remember it was great driving a N.H. Clayson 8070 for two months a year. The autumn cultivations were good fun as well. Looking forward to more great content. Thankyou.

Good to see you've cracked the harvest. Also nice to show appreciation to the troops who have done the hours to make that possible. We had a really good end to a season one year -( thanks Hughie). Lots of cultivation videos to come now then...

Well done James to all of the team at PX farms who have all done a fantastic job, as I type this (Sunday evening 25th August) we have heavy rain in North Lincolnshire so perfect timing getting harvest 2024 finished.

Great to hear your little daughter in the background of your video, you are a true hard working farming family for sure taking lots of caculated riss with huge numbers against the elements.

James, do you do public speaking events? Think a lots of organisations could benefit from hearing how you run your business and especially how well you treat your staff.

James, I think it was during the Labour government of Harold Wilson (1964 - 1970) the Conservative party had a bumper sticker which ran: "CRIME DOESN'T PAY - Nor does Farming". Hope it doesn't come to that this time around!!

Well done James and all at PX Farms for getting the harvest done, like you said a lot of people think when harvest is done its the end. The truth is it's just the start of another complete cycle in the farming year, hope you all have a nice Bank Holiday weekend well deserved after the long hours doing harvest .
