Troy Bilt 2660 snowblower. This is the easiest way to clean a snowblower carb that sat for more than 6 months. Skip the full carb removal and save time doing it this way. Have a Simplicity 1724 (Briggs 420 CC) I bought brand new in Jan 2024, used it during winter 2024 and it worked well - Stored it inside my garage with Stabil 360 Marine in the fuel - Started it mid Nov 2024 and sure it enough it was surging - I was ready to replace the carb with an OEM replacement - I watched a few YouTube’s and landed on yours - Low and behold same target jet was clogged beyond belief - I gently twisted a micro drill bit by hand to clear the hard obstruction - The drill bit was the only tool that worked - Cleaned it up and boom boom, smooth running engine !! - Nice - Thanks for the insight and production - Big help bro !!

I got a cheap set of micro drill bits to clean out that hole. Works much better than a wire bristle. Thanks for the video

A set of tip cleaners for an acetylene torch is probably about the best tool you can find to clean the small ports in a carburetor.
They come with about 15 in a set, and there will be 1 that is perfect for every port there is.
They are stiff, and relatively inexpensive.

I always run Stabil in my fuel and run the carb out after every use. No issue yet.

I just replaced the Carb bc Snow Blower wouldnt start after years of storage. Success! Its starts. But Surges (as i recall it did years ago). I replaced the Carb completely. Why is it still surging?
