Jen wanted to do a cross country trip so I hopped on FB and found a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Elite in Las Vegas that had been sitting for about 15 years. The owner Oscar got it from his father who was the original owner and due to health reasons had let it sit for some time. Oscar had this and another car shipped to him from Cali with the hopes of fixing both up but never got to the Elite due to lack of free time. So this is the story of us flying out from Pennsylvania to get it running and drive it home 2500 miles. since there was an overwhelming amount of footage I decided on breaking it into part one and part two. Hope you enjoy watching and any feedback is always appreciated!

I'm totally being honest. This could've been 10 hours and I would've watched. Excellent presentation and content Chris. Good to see Jen and Gus in more prominent roles also. Fun trip for sure. Blanket be ready this week. For the Gus man.

Your a hell of a mechanic and film maker. You, Jen and Gus are a perfect combination. Fast flowing, punchy and perfect. Thank you so much from Rob in the UK.

This concept of "Will it Run" combined with sight seeing/camping is absolutely brilliant. Nobody at a TV network would ever say, " Hey let's take an industrious master mechanic, with his Hot chick and loyal canine and put them in a derelict automobile and see if they can make it across the country." I don't watch much of any long format, but I couldn't get enough of your adventure. The things you're willing to take on in a parking lot of a parts store or hotel was really impressive. Keep up the good work. You're an inspiration. BTW, we are headed to Utah this Fall and can't wait to get there.

I was 15 years old and got off the school bus and seen this exact car in my parents driveway. Asked my dad whose car that was. He said yours. It had a 351/400 engine with a rod thru the block. Fast forward 6 months and a whole lot lawn mowing, and it now had a 351W in it from the junkyard. Get it running and needs a top end. Fast forward and a whole lot what ever I could do for money and it is finally running right. Some of my greatest memories are with this car. Still have all scars from the work I did some 40 something years ago. Thanks for making me smile.

I'd say having a Jen with the "it's your rodeo" type of attitude is what makes these adventures worth doing!! She's a keeper fo-sho!! Also love the way you explain how you find and fix problems, and yes, we do get your little comments here and there...hilarious! I'd say this is definitly a formula for success!!

I quit drugs about 24 years ago and I said I'd never get addicted to anything I lied. I can't stop watching you man. It's 3:00 right now in the morning a.m. and I'm sleepy, but I don't want. I want to watch the next one and the next one and the next one you know I like it. Don't ever stop. I'm learning a lot about mechanic and by watching you also. Thank you man. Thank you

A couple of other people have mentioned it, but I really like how you have been taking the time to explain how individual parts work, like the fuel pump. No one else really does that. I am a self taught car and small engine nut. I learned everything from Youtube videos and trial and error. I appreciate the in depth explanations. They certainly help a novice like me.

In 1991 I was stationed at Mare Island near Vallejo, CA. Bought a 75 Torino and drove it for months. Sold it to another sailor who then drove it from Northern CA to NYC. Said all he did was replace the fuel filter. The reason I first bought it was a good friend got a 74 Gran Torino Elite upon graduating. Deep maroon with crushed velvet interior, lighted vanity mirrors on the visor; it had ALL the luxuries! We called it his "Pimpmobile!"

This is probably one of the more bold “will it run?” attempts I’ve ever seen. Excited to follow this one along lol. Editing to say I haven’t watched too many other car will it run channels because this one is great. Only other similar thing I watch is a guy who does this kinda stuff on heavy equipment but the NNKH diesel/heavy equipment vids are definitely a little more fun lol.

I drove the same car In Boston for three years in the 80s and loved it. I had to get a truck for work but I always regretted selling that car. Thanks for the video it brings back a lot of memories.

In 1974, I bought a new red and white Gran Torino Elite just like that one here in Texas. My wife had matching red racing mirrors installed to replace the single chrome mirror. Loved that car!

Probably my favorite YouTube mechanic. I've been enjoying the diversity from the rocks in your driveway, the snow, the "swamp", the heavy equipment and now the drive it home style! Thank you and the family for great content and keep it coming!
