DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DOCTOR: Internal Medicine

Join me for a day in the life of a doctor! This time I'll be showing you what it's like on the CTU, the clinical teaching unit. We work in teams made up of medical students, residents, fellows and staff physicians. It's a full day of seeing patients, attending teaching sessions and seeing friends!

Anytime I'm at my doctor's or having a test done and they ask if a student can be in the room, I always allow them. It's their way of learning(similar to when I did my student teaching) and my case with gastropraesis and other motility disorders is a tough one and this gives them great experience learning how best to treat me and/or handle my condition. So, awesome you're going to be a doctor, I wish you all the best of luck!

I enjoy your videos so much. I have worked on a CTU unit for 25 yrs and still learn something new almost every shift. I love that you included talking to the nurse as part of you day. Sadly many doctors don't include this in part of their day.
