Day in the Life of a Japanese Factory Worker

A day in the Life as Japanese Egg Factory Worker in Japan. This is a typical day working in a Japanese factory from morning until night. The average factory worker in Japan works a set amount of hours ever day as you'll see. Also, in Japanese factories, it’s very common to have more part-time shift workers, than full-time workers. In this egg factory, 80% of the workers are part-time and 20% full-time. Kenta works at Yachiyo Poultry, a well-renowned egg factory in Japan with a proud 95 year history running it’s own farms. In Japan, TAMAGO aka eggs have a place in every meal which is why it’s no surprise that the country ranks as the 2nd highest consumer of eggs globally, each person consuming on average 339 eggs per year. Also, there is quite a lot Japanese work culture that can be seen in this video. For example, punctuality, is a deeply ingrained aspect of Japanese work culture, emphasizing the importance of being fully prepared and ready to work before the start time, rather than simply arriving at the start time. I hope you enjoy this day in a Japan factory focused on delivering the freshest eggs in Japan and can see why many Japanese can safely eat raw eggs in Japan.

Finally, an apartment that doesn't look like something out of a fairy tale.

Now this is the blue-collar video i've been waiting for. Just an average Joe working an honest 9-5 job.

Kenta is a hard worker. He is so responsible. He left his dream because he did the responsible thing to get a job and earn money. I hope you get a good raise and you are able to fulfil your dreams. Hard choices in life need to be made to survive. I wish you well

To everybody commenting on the state of Kenta's apartment, you need to understand that the Tokyo metropolitan area is VERY expensive. Have you ever noticed that most of the people Paolo spotlights have above-average careers, such as owning a factory or working at a major company as a game programmer? Their apartments/houses are outliers. The average Tokyo apartment is closer to the size of Kenta's in my experience

At the beginning, When I saw his apartment, I really thought Kenta was just a typical otaku Japanese. But after learning about his backstory and his daily routine, I think it's amazing how he can manage to juggle between intense work at the factory and chasing his dreams as a musician. Truly an inspiring video 👏

Kenta is a phenomenally hard worker, humble and driven. It’s no surprise he’s a smart high-flying facility supervisor at 33. Blue collar work is vastly dismissed but he’s proof that there’s hope for the future of honest, vocational work.

I hope he reads and cherishes all of the positive comments here praising his work! ☺️

Love to see these videos focus on “ordinary” people. I feel like it puts my own ordinary life in perspective and makes me feel like my life is special in its own way

One of the best episodes in the "day in the life" series. Loved almost all the episodes, but it is super refreshing to see a regular blue-collar worker who isn't a nepo baby or owns their business.

The confidence of this man to show us his home is unmatched 💪 Keep up the hard work Kenta!

Have you ever thought about doing videos on rice farming? I used to work in wheat fields, so I'm curious about not only their methods but what life in the Japanese countryside is like. You can even break it into different episodes. Crop selection, planting, fertilizing, weeding, watering, harvesting, crop rotation, etc.

Literally almost every day in the life of this channel I have seen, I always see a very clean and immaculate house or apartments but Kenta is the only who shows that his apartment is actually lived in. There is some things that do need to be cleaned up a little but I see nothing wrong with it. Honestly it's a clean clutter.

I love how realistic Kenta's home is, it really takes guts to show it exactly as it is to not just one or two people but to the entire world.
We really need to normalize homes that are not always minimalistic or perfect, Kenta opened up his home so people could see into a day of his life, the least people could do is be respectful towards the guy :/ Thanks for sharing a day in your life with us Kenta! Thanks Paolo for this great informative video!

12:27 For the guy testing the freshness, I was feeling quite sad to see a whole bucket of eggs that were tested, do they just get thrown out even if they were good? 😢
I'm curious how many he tests in a day and how much goes to waste everyday even if they were good eggs huhuhu bur I totally understand this is necessary to ensure the product being sold is in its best condition.

I was having kind of a bad day, but Paolo's egg puns are making me giggle and smile so big I can't help but feel better!

Regardless of how his house is, lets all just be nice to each other and respect one another. No one knows anything about whats going on in other peoples lives. We see what they lets us see only. Be kind 😊

I think given the amount of work and responsibilities he had in the factory, it's normal that his house looked like that. His work looks like it needs a lot of concentration and he needs to be attentive all the time.
It's so brave to put out your life to the audience here, I hope you'll have a good life, Kenta-san.
