Thank you so much for sharing! Your tips were really helpful in this case and my MacBook M3 was fine. Just one note based in my experience - if your MacBook is working I wouldn’t take it to the Apple Store to be checked. I did this and as soon as I told them I spilled water on it (just a tiny bit that I removed really quickly and I am pretty sure none actually got inside) they gave me a bill of £1500 without even looking at it. The MacBook was working fine before I took it to Apple with no issues, I just wanted them to check it. They changed every single component inside and only kept the screen and outer cover. There is NO WAY everything was damaged. What I would recommend is follow all the steps, leave it to dry and if it is working to just keep using it until it actually stops working (if it does stop working). Apple will change everything anyway so you might as well wait until your MacBook has ACTUAL damage

4:07 Literally the most helpful and mind-blowing pro-tip!!! This really changed my life my friend, the amount of insight you have on problem-solving. I have no idea how you thought of that! Wow!

1.) Unplug power cord
2.) Press and hold power button
3.) Do Not use a napkin or paper towel or your shirt or anything to wipe away water (yet)
(if you do this, you may force liquid into the logic board = FRIED)
4.) With Display Open, Carefully Flip MacBook Upside down with keyboard horizontal (parallel to the ground so gravity helps you)
5.) Carefully hold paper towel against keyboard. If water is dripping out, keep it in this position and rock it from side to side trying to get water out from the Middle of the keyboard, not the sides where it will store the liquid.
5.) Lay Macbook keyboard face on a towel with the screen overhanging an edge of a desk or coffee table or countertop.
6.) Grab 10 paper towels and roll each into balls
7.) Lift up Macbook with keyboard face-down
8.) place paper towel balls down on top of towel
9.) Carefully place the Macbook keyboard down on top of these balls to have maximum airflow between the keyboard and towel below
10.) Do Not Use A Hair Dryer you will pressure-force water back into the logic board
11.) Place a Fan on Low Speed Two Feet Away from the side of the upside down Macbook
(The higher pressure of airflow will "pull" the water out from the membrane and internal components)
(same way Bernoulli's Principle works for how birds and airplanes fly, (and why the shower curtain pulls into you while the shower is on;)

12.) BE PATIENT - It's super easy to mess this up IF YOU DON'T WAIT 48 HOURS. JUST WAIT.

13.) Don't set this up in the sun thinking hotter mens more evaporation, in this instance, you will be creating vapor which will expand into other components (and/or cook your super expensive processor, logic board, SSD (Solid State Drive/Hard Drive) and Memory.

14.) AFTER 48 HOURS:
Rotate MacBook to stand Upright on Paper Towels, and let it sit with fan on the keyboard for One Hour
15.) If you see any water on the paper towels, return to step 9.
16.) If no water on the paper towels after one hour proceed to rotate back to the other side and let it sit with fan on the keyboard for One Hour
17.) If you see any water on the paper towels, return to step 9.
18.) After all above steps, do not connect MacBook to power.
19.) Press and hold the Power button until Apple Logo appears.
( If Apple Logo Does Not Appear after 30 seconds, release Power button and try again.)
20.) Once Apple Logo Appears, if you see abnormal white spots on the screen or any pixelated line(s) through the screen, immediately press and hold the power button until turns off and repeat Step 9.
21.) After 2 weeks of drying out upside down with fans in a non-humid environment, your Macbook should evaporate or "desiccant" the moisture inside.

I Hope This Helps.

DO NOT PUT IT IN A TENT POSITION. PUT THE KEYBOARD FACE DOWN. This was what my logic told me but I listened to these stupid videos only to have my intuition reassured by an expert later.

spilled water on my MacBook but I immediately dried it off using a towel. It was turned on and was working when it happened so I shut it off. After a few minutes, I checked it and it's still working, trackpad is still smooth and also nothing wrong with the speaker. What should I do with it?

Hi, nearly half glass of water got spilled on my MacBook Pro the bottle cap got opened accidentally in my bag. I realised it and immediately took it out, wiped and dried it with paper napkin. It was on when the water got spilled but later it turned off. I have not tried turning it on. Kept it in a tent position. When should I try checking if it is working or not? Please help, I’m really worried!

Seems like some water entered the lcd screen. Everything works but the water spots can be seen on the bottom left corner. Would the water evaporate over a period of time and the screen is back to normal?

Maybe you need to change the title, not 7 ways to fix macbook.. but 7 ways to prevent further damage on your macbook.. just giving my honest opinion based on your video.. cause there is nothing you teach about fixing a macbook, only a cloth wiping the lcd, a screw driver on the battery.

My son spilled a whole glass of Pepsi on my MacBook Pro. He didn’t mean to and he immediately started crying. I was upset as I am a music producer and that was my main computer, but I have a time machine backup and I just gave him and hug and let him know I wasn’t mad at him.. he knows drinks aren’t allowed in my studio but he was coming to give me a hug before he left with my ex wife. I was upset but I didn’t let him know it bc it would crush him. I dropped it off at a repair facility, but I don’t think they got to it quickly enough so even the hard drive was toast.
