Bro I spilled an entire bottle of water on my laptop yesterday. It turned off immediately, i was terrified. I tried to soak it from the outside the best I could and kept trying to power it on, which I realise now, was a mistake. I kept it in front of a fan in a tent pose for 30 min but still didn't turn on. But I guess miracles do happen because my laptop suddenly decided to boot up when I once again hit the power button with my hope slowly dying away. Voila! It works and it's in perfect shape, I am so glad that rejoiced!

Look if i happen to stumble upon this comment. I'll tell you my case. I was drinking a Oreo shake with tiny pieces of Oreo in it, I spilled it all over my macbook keyboard. All i did was keep it in tent position for like 2 hours or so in my shelf, shelf because it needs to be warm. Then I just opened it and it was working just fine. Also when u open it click shift+ power button to safeboot it. Dont panick. Thank you!

Water spilt on the laptop and i used hair dryer and tisue while it was being cleaned the laptop was on and a few seconds from cleaning i shut it down and continued

my friend spilled monster energy drink on top of my macbook, (LID WAS CLOSED) . He dried it off IMMEDIATELY, I turned it on 25 mins later & still worked. I did use the ac but not directly on components (just 3 hours of drying) it worked again, i did a research so i make sure the spill wasn't directly on the motherboard, I checked all the ports on the laptop no water was inside
