Europeans literally sailed around the world for centuries, spending years at a time in each single trip to find you that "big". They _know_ what big is.

The State of Western Australia has room for all of Western Europe with enough room left over for Texas. Aussies know BIG.

2:59 Selling alcohol in grocery stores isn´t half as strange as selling assault rifles at Walmart.

0:21 The aqueduct of Segovia in Spain was built more than 1800 years ago by the Romans without using cement of any kind to join the stones together. It was in use until 1973 bringing water to Segovia, and is still standing.

2:30 Maybe it's strange, but in Europe it doesn't matter what language you speak or what temple you attend (if any). The values are the same. They can be expressed in one word - respect. It's a simple rule that you don't interfere in other people's lives and they don't interfere in yours. And it works.

The last: German employers pay those six weeks, yes. But they get back a healthy and active employee with great experience and devotion. It's a win-win.

The note about their being so many languages is ridiculous. North America had many different languages before being invaded by Europeans and others. These invaders set about killing off native Americans (largely through diseases) and imposing their languages, religions etc. The predominant language turned out to be English with a lot of French too in Canada. Then the slave trade..etc etc. Oh, read a history book!

02:17 Depends on the country and city. Munich is closed on Sunday but all of the UK has open shops. In my country it´s half and half.
03:50 My UK and Hungarian team members must take leave as I get better performance out of them as they are happier. My US colleagues always take short cuts to get through the work and are miserable.
06:59 I spent several decades driving to my German wife´s family through France, Belgium and Netherlands. We would often go on to holiday in Austria. All driving was the same. Italians are just mental (worked there for 2 years). Spain, where i now live, probably the easiest and UK the worst attitude.
07:14 I keep hearing this but never see it. Ten years ago perhaps. Austria is bad thouogh. I once saw smoking in a health spa.
07:27 Happened to my Father in Law after a heart attack. It costs less to do this as another coronary would be very expensive. When the the whole system is one, you can do this.

I was temporarily working in America and wanted to go to a Mall just down the road from the hotel. It wasn’t far, so I walked. A cop car pulled me over and wanted to know why I was walking? As soon as I opened my mouth, he said “Oh, you’re English - nobody walks in America”, and drove off!

Well, heres an interesting story showing the american attitude to other countries. I was a cab driver middle of the 80's in a German city with four american army barracks in and around town. Something like 10000 soldiers, maybe more. We had cab stands in front of every gate, even though there were city bus or tram stops in walking distance (less than 500m / 1500 feet). One evening two quite young soldiers got in my cab and wanted to go downtown, about a 10 minute drive. They started talking about what they're doing, and one of them said literally: "Jesus, am I glad I'm going back to the world next week." Where? So I piped up and asked him where he's off to (remark: I was born in NYC and lived there for 8 years before coming to Germany, so i had fluent american English...) Dead silence for at least 30 sec. "um, to Norfolk, Virginia" he

The World?? Is Germany that far off radar that we are on a different planet? That hit me at the time, but nowadays I can only shake my head over the stupidness and idiocy of most americans.

The taxes in the US always catch me! Used to travel there for business a lot, on of the first times was at JFK and I fancied a burger before the flight, went to McD they had a meal at $5 and I had the right dollar note, so ordered and was surprised when the cost was $6.33 so had to use my card in the end. Whilst this was a few years ago was still surprised that there was no chip and pin for cards and you had to sign the bill!

We don't know what "big" is? The British had the biggest empire in history.

All it takes is a few adjustments for most things to change for the better. Start it yourself by walking places. Grow some easy, fresh food ( it tastes great ! ).
