What most amazes me about your video tutorials is that there is always a 1-click hidden away from view solution button!! Your demystifying of this UI makes the tutorials so worth to watch from beginning to end. Thank you!! Keep it up!

So, when you crop, and or crop and zoom, etc, and you still want a 16:9 aspect ratio, doesn't that mess up your ratio? I JUST want to crop a video of wife painting so we don't have a lot of background junk in view and want to keep the 16:9 aspect ratio, but cropping out the outer sides a bit makes the video appear in a more square or 4:3 ratio. How can that be corrected? Just want to trim a bit off the bottom, left, and right, but keep the same aspect ratio. Sounds simple but can't get a simple answer yet.

Hey, TJ. This was great. One question, though. I'm trying to fit an image at a severe angle on a small screen within the clip. Yaw and pitch decay the image. How do I rotate the image on its axis?

Hey TJ I followed what you did, but when I cropped my facecam clip, the parts that I cropped off the top and side didn't actually delete, they became like an opacity shade? It didn't fully remove the parts I cropped

What about larger clip size? For example 6 K square footage dropped to 4 K timeline? From my expectations I thought I should easily downscale this to 4 K timeline, but it looks that the clip automatically become adjusted to timeline and I still need to readjust the frame size when black borders are on the sides of a square anamorphic footage.

Thanks for the content! Helped a lot. Question though, if I edited a video on my phone on Kinemaster (free version 720hd), would I be able to finish the video on DaVinci Resolve for a better resolution for YouTube content?

Once you have the video cropped - do you have to hit/click... apply or save somewhere?

I want to know to use window option and resize it so that only part of the screen is more visible and other part part is under the dark. I basically do coding tutorial videos. I want to highlight the screen where I am doing the live coding, and partially darken other unimportant parts of the screen. I hope I was able to describe what I have in my mind.

2:40 this step here. Can you get resolve to automatic centre and fill? Manually zooming and adjusting is so slow and unco method.

Hey folks - I am still quite new to Davinci - when I used Premier Pro, if I cropped an image, and had an image "behind it" (as in an image I was overlaying on a green screen) the area that had been cropped was now revealing the background layer - I have tried this in Davinci, but when I crop the "lead" image - all that happens is that part of the screen is black, and I cannot see the image behind it.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is there a way to make this work like it does in Premiere Pro?
