I still remember the first set of FA 500’s I got haha I ordered them through a local parts shop called San Leandro speed. When they came in the guy asked me to open the box so he could check them out as it was his first time setting hands on a pair of FA coil overs. He was blown away at how well they were put together and time they were right around $1100 and $1400 with the swift springs. So In that price point they were absolutely better than anything else on the market. He asked me to come back after I put them on so we could go for a drive. Long story short he’s a FA rep now and has them on all his cars 😂😂 this was around 2014 or so.

I bought BC BRs for my Supra 3 years ago, and I wish I knew about the DC’s being softer. When I drive over bumps like train tracks, I hear a loud BANG!

BCs use to be $900, manufactures really took advantage of COVID to unnecessarily markup their prices

I ordered a set of FA500s because it was one of the only companies that built a coilover set for my 2004 Mitsubishi lancer Wagon ralliart. Drove across country with them and was shocked at how good they were. With the swift spring upgrade installed I was also blown away at how good they made the car handle up my friends super tight and twisty mountain road.

Last time I was this early, the best show on earth, aka, Driver To Driver, was still being made on youtube

I've had BC BR's and Fortune's on the same car. The difference is night and day, and not even close. The BC's feel like cheap $400 coilovers you'd find on ebay(that I've also owned at other points in the past). If you don't care at all how it rides, and are cheap...you'll say the BC's are good enough.

Highly recommend checking out annex suspension if it fits any of ur cars and don't want to spend KW, ohlins, MCS money. They are very transparent on what OTS parts they use to build the coilovers, offer a consultation service to select the best spring rates for ur use case, and shock dyno test every build they do.

Had Tein Flex Z before and swapped to FA 500 10/6k swift springs. NIGHT AND DAY difference in ride quality. I did switch out the 10k springs for 8k springs for a much comfier ride and better grip as the 10k was too stiff. Tein was very soft even at full stiff due to the twin tube design. The FA soaks up all small bumps wonderful and even bigger bumps well. The car was also much more stable over dips and didn't continue to bounce. Very happy with the FA500.

Fortune auto is like driving a 90s Buick I hated driving on coils over before trying them

I got the BC racing BR extreme lows on my old passat with some swift springs, 2in clearance and it was a smooth ride (aside from the bent cheap reps)

BC "Bor Chuann" racing
Fortune "Cookie" Auto
And many more brand names you've heard of and some you haven't are all from the same component supplier in Taiwan.
FA is buying "dry kits" and assembling in Virginia, the custom valving is not as custom as you may think. Further BC offers some "custom valving" as well.
I've used FA500 on my track only EG hatch, and BCR DS series on my 350z used for track days and street driving. Both brands performed great. Currently will have Silver's on my in progress build RX8 with v8 swap. I took the Silver's to a real custom shock builder who dyno tested all four shocks and to his and my surprise tested very well; I have the print out for each of the four shocks at each 2 clicks of setting.

I would say BC coilovers a really nice for the money but their springs go soft after a year or 2... it was noticeable so I would suggest getting the swift springs... you will be replacing them anyways after they go soft

I used to run BCBR with Swift springs 12K/16K F/R on my E90 335i. It handled super nice! compared to my Tein Flex on my RA, I preferred the BCBRs.

Great comparison! A few points of note: the Fortune Auto 500 series uses a “high flow digressive” piston, which does have a digressive characteristic, but the overall damper curve is more representative of linear shock when compared to a 510 series with a true double digressive piston. also, the number of clicks does not necessarily represent the amount of range of damping adjustment, it just determines how many steps that range is cut into ;)

I'll stick to H&R, Bilstein, KW, or Ohlins.

That digressive piston information is huge. U just sold me...

I had a set of BC's on my 07 Spec B and I had a set on my 01 neon r/t dodge motorsports edition.
Been a big fan of BC for awhile.

All I want is good rebound and comprehension dampening and lower . Any coilover can do low. But not all coilovers can do BMW like dampening.
