The UK and Commonwealth fought and won our jungle wars in Malaya and Borneo.
The ANZAC Troops took this experience to Vietnam.
I personally knew two Royal Ulster Rifles Riflemen who met Australian lasses and transferred to the Australian Army and served in Vietnam too.
One came back to the UK and was in the Ulster Defence Regiment and wore his Vietnam medals with pride👍🏼

Fun fact: The Brits did deal with the Vietcong just after WWII and almost wiped them out until the French told them to piss off their colony.

British did fight in Vietnam. It was one of the most important Wars in Vietnam wars, as the French managed to regain control of the cities from the Vietnamese after WWII, which helped them to start the first Indochina War.
40 British soldiers died in this small war, but most of them were Indian. Most casualty came from Japanese P.O.W and French soldiers. Vietnamese, otherwise, lost almost 3000 soldiers and the control of many major cities like Saigon.
