When a kitten is separated from their mother and siblings, they most likely meow all the time during their first few days at home. This is not because they don't feel well cared for, the reason is much simpler. From birth, the kitten is used to meowing when away from their mother so she can find them quickly.

You see, a kitten meowing for the first few days at home is normal. What you should do is ensure your little companion fits your new life as soon as possible, providing basic care they need and giving them all your love. to calm a scared kitten..pick the kitten up& hold it close to your heart.. this will give the kitten a feeling of closeness & security

I figure that the reason kittens cry alot is because they haven't yet developed their telepathic abilities. :)

I’d rather hear kittens meow than babies crying. I’ll take kittens anytime. Each time a kitten mews, gets them a kiss - any cat that licks me or rubs on me gets spoilt for being so cute n wonderful

The only time my sisters cat ever meows at me is to get me to lift her up so she can attack geckos on the walls.

I have a cat who absolutely HATED other cats. She had been abandoned and my friends fostered her before I adopted her. Izzie always needed my attention. If I so much as left the house to get the mail she would have terrible separation anxiety. Eventually I moved in with my girlfriend and her 3 cats. The smallest cat, Bria, has feline leukemia and is FIV+. Izzie began to sort of mother Bria. Now our spacious home is at kittie capacity with Izzie's 4 new adopted babies from 3 different litters. Izzie is confident, happy, and I can't think of a prouder kittie mama than her. She has accepted the primary mother role and allows Lana and Loki coparenting roles. Bria is excited to have siblings. Our home is full of meowing little sweeties. They've learned to communicate what they need or want and have us totally under their control.
I know some people may not know this, but FIV+ cats can live with cats who are not sick. You do have to pay a lot more attention though. Make sure all your cats are vaccinated and your positive cat has the medical plan the vet and you have discussed. The main thing you need to watch out for is if anyone plays too rough and might accidentally draw blood while playing. With Bria we have an unusual situation. Every few months or so her teeth recede back under her gums and she teethes again. Naturally this causes bleeding in her gums. We have to separate her until her teeth are out again but we give her all the love and formula enhanced wet food she could possibly want.
Sorry for going on so long but cat experts including Jackson Galaxy have all said FIV+ cats can live with FIV- cats if you are willing and able to really commit.

A few months ago a stray kitten just went to my house. I fed it once then it just always came back. I decided to adopt and care for it then another 2 kittens came to me. They were much younger. I decided to adopt again. Now another one showed up and I can tell it’s pretty young. I feel like these mother stray cats becomin lazy man. Why do they abandon their young so early?
