How To Safely Update CFW 3DS To 11.9.0 (SysNAND Backup)

I’ve updated to 11.9 and can confirm that my CFW is still working. My CFW cias are still working as well. If you follow the steps in the video, you should have no issues.

For some people, the menu might be different when pressing start, like me.
I had a different menu, I went into scripts, GM9Megascript, Backup options (which is the first option), and SysNAND Backup.
Follow the video.


Although I think I have this menu because I backup beforehand.

Slight problem with my 2ds xl, and I got an error message that says, "an error has occurred: failed to apply 1 firm patch(es)". Then reboot the system and the same error message pops up. I even went into gm9, but nothing helped. Please help me

i need help, I'm on 11.6 Running B9S is it safe to update to the latest firmware 11.9?
or should i update my B9S first?

I installed cfw on my friend's 3ds a few weeks ago. His system was on 11.6. I backed up his sys nand just in case but wasn't sure whether or not to update his system. Is it safe to update from 11.6?

Hey Tech James, could you also please make a video how to create an EmuNand on the SD card using SX OS on the Switch and then updating the SD Emunand partition to the latest working firmware SX OS supports? Thanks a lot.

I have n3dsxl 11.6 and I wanted to make a backup but gm9 gives me an error that there isnt enough space, even though I have more than 4 gb space free, any help?

Can I delete mine and backup, I'm just using the default 4 gigabyte SD card and I just wanted to mess around with custom firmware. I mean I might download all of my games to a 32 gig SD card down the line but I don't use my DS enough for that.

Question, if I already backed up can I still do that again even if my files from my original backup are in my SD card? Or do I have to move the original backup to my pc and make a new backup ?

The speed will vary depending on your sdcard too.

I have a 8gb ultra sdcard (SanDisk, black) and a ordinary 4gb sdcard (SanDisk, blue)

I tested the speeds, and it seems to be faster on my 8gb.
