You know this man is an engineer when he spends 15 min at the Physical layer

PS Thanks so much! It's actually pretty difficult to find a comprehensive video done within 30 min

thank god, youre way better than my teacher he just sits at the top of the class in silence and assigns reading assignments and makes you feel stupid for asking him a question, you explain IN PLAIN ENGLISH WITH VISUAL EXAMPLES youre a good man for this work, paving the way for us newbies

I spent nearly 20 years listening to Kevin Wallace from Somalia, and I learned so much from this engineer and teacher. Thank you, sir!

I don't know to what we owe the existence of this video, but no teacher could explain it so clearly.

It amazes me that your view count isn’t higher. This is by far the best OSI model presentation I’ve seen. Thank you so much!!

Best demystification of OSI layers. Been always gr8 fan of yours. I started off my IT career in 2015 and today I am at the CCNP level, my both CCNA & CCNP study training was KW only. Today, I am enjoying a highly paid job. Your way of teaching just syncs extremely well.

I really appreciate the explanation starting with the physical layer and moving up. It makes much more sense that way. It's also excellent how much you focus on the first few layers! Those are the ones I need to learn most intimately for my position. You have a very good speaking voice!

I'm taking a cyber security course and my college has actually linked your videos for us to watch. It's been very informative.

Honestly, this man can explain the OSI model better in 30 mins than my professor can in 3 hours.

I had some basic knowledge of the OSI or TCP/IP model, although there were obvious gaps in that knowledge that was filled with thanks to this video! I love how short it is but covers so much, especially a 15 minute introduction to the physical layer 😂I thought the physical layer would receive the least amount of attention. Thank you!

You demistified my fear of avoiding this topic every time.

Kevin, your training style is great. I just started your Networking Fundamentals course on LinkedIn and wanted more depth on the OSI model, and of course your video comes up. Keep doing what you are doing, this material is invaluable to have on YouTube!

great introduction Kevin. but for complete beginners like me, it'd be more perceptible if you explain: why these layers were born, why they're called layers in the first place, why this model was chosen, besides talking what these 'layers' do. that'd give a holistic picture of how the entire concept originated and why this setup was chosen. it'd make your video a lot more substantial and probably the only one, as I haven't found even one that talks about it!
kudos to you for the great work! blessings

Love this! One of the best explanations of the OSI model. I am preparing to take a test next week for my network and security foundations class and I've heard the majority of the test covers OSI and the course material just wasn't clicking but your video has helped me to better understand the OSI model. You rock, Kevin!
