So once I'm connected, how do I switch servers? What about Nord's VPN over TOR feature? Is that available for Linux?

TOR isn't huge deal but being able to route my traffic through a server in some place like Switzerland might be.

Mine still says “failed to connect please try again” any idea why?

Also when I type login I get promoted with “please continue on the browser..”

So I have to type in “nordvpn login —legacy” to final enter my credentials to login

To add servers via the Settings Network interface on Gnome:

Option 1:
Currently a list of NordVpn servers can be found in the following file:
Make a folder called NORDVPN in in your home directory and extract the zip file there (or wherever you like).

Option 2:
If the ovpn.zip file no longer exists, go to the NordVPN homepage (nordvpn.com) and login.
A list of all the NordVPN servers appears.
Select the server and protocol (TCP or UDP) you want to connect with and download the .ovpn file to a directory of your choice (I created a directory called NORDVPN in my home directory).


Adding NordVPN Servers:
If you are using Gnome front end, go to Settings / Network. Click the "+" icon above the VPN text box.
A window called Add VPN opens.
At the bottom of the list of options, select the Open From File option.
Browse to the directory you extracted the zip file to. Select the ovpn.udp folder.
A list of NordVPN servers (starting with those in Albania) appears.
Double click on the server you want to connect to.
The Authentication type for this VPN connection is password.
Enter your NordVPN User Name and Password in the corresponding boxes and select “Add” button in the upper right hand corner.
A VPN entry for the selected server how appears in the Gnome Network window. To connect to it, simply slide the radio button beside it to the right. To disconnect, slide the radio button to the left.
To add other NordVPNservers, simply repeat the steps above and select a different file from the folder where the .ovpn files your downloaded are stored.
You don't need to have NordVpn write a GUI interface for Linux, when the Network Settings of the Gnome GUI desktop already has a way of entering them.

I have Linux Mint and it does not show notifications like for example when it connects to server. I was used to PIA VPN with nice GUI app for Linux and after switching to NordVPN it very confusing for me. Complicated setting and after that I'm missing some sort of green icon in taskbar that would inform me VPN is active. And also dont know how to set automatic VPN start after computer starts without entering VPN login and password everytime computer boots.
