This is my exact setup. Even the bottomless looks similar, I added an IMS basket though. Makes really decent espresso for the outlay

I love my bambino. It's cute and I'm learning on how to pull the best shot I can 😁

Can you do a latte art tutorial on this bambino? Would complete the perfect budget setup then

I got this for $215 at a sonomas outlet. I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s still great

I have the Bambino and I love it. Fortunately, it came with four baskets, two of which are pressurized. I have had fun playing with different coffee beans and both types of basket to see how I can get a good shot from either. The only big disappointment was the plastic tamper.🧐

Can you please go through which portafilter, basket, and scale you used? (Mostly the first two things)

On another note, I'm working on my first home espresso setup, and after my initial research, I planned to buy this exact grinder and machine combo. I ended up having some room in the budget, so I planned on getting the baratza sette 270, and now the Turin DF64 gen 2. I also landed on getting the Bambino Plus due to the better steam wand, and the actuator that cuts off the water flow once you have finished pulling the shot. Now, I'm tempted to instead buy the Turin Legato, but reviews of the system are limited right now. Thoughts?

Also the steam wand is very solid. I can do swans and basically everything I do at work with this. It's a bit harder and the milk texture isn't AS good (obviously) but it gets the job done if you're good

Yup it is. Used mine for a year and a half and then gave it to my daughter when I upgraded to the big machine.

I have this setup a dig it - especially for the price. The tamper is definitely the first to be upgraded, I think (I went with Normcore) and it's unfortunate that the machine is so light that you need to hold on to it to lock in the portafilter. Breville makes good baskets but the stock PF is dumb. It's hard to consider upgrading when this thing has that fast thermalcoil that is ready to go in 5 seconds.

As for the ESP: don't get the Baratza portafilter holder - it's terrible and they don't care to have it returned. However, I do recommend the single dose hopper to get the retained grounds out a lot easier.
17-18 clicks on the ESP is a good place to start.

I have this exact same set up and have only ever been able to get an okay cup of coffee out of it. Im going to copy this recipe exactly and see what happens!
