Wait, as a drunk teenager on an isolated lake camp, you're saying I shouldn't split up from my friends and walk backwards into a dark room? This is all just crazy

I found my friend once hanging in the closet, he had killed himself. I felt apathetic and it scared me as everyone else freaked out begging me to perform CPR on his body… but I saw that he was dead in post rigor Morris unfortunately.. I called the police and explained everything to them. I’m sorry Nick, I wish I felt more and hope you’re happy wherever you are.

As a mortician I never thought that I will ever be startled by a cadaver until one night I was really tired from working because of a natural disaster. There was two bodies I was supposed to stash in the storage space but I forgot before going to grab food; when I got back I opened the door turned on the light and I almost had a heart attack. I know it is crazy because that is the morgue and supposed to have cadavers but on a normal day that place is always cluster free but that day was an exception. Seeing a dead body in a place you are not expected to see one always have an unpredictable reaction and effects on someone.

Found my granny deceased in her bed, with her Bible on her chest. That was in 1994, I can’t unsee that nor watching my mom take her last breath. It stays with you forever.

I myself encountered a body while bottle hunting near Maili Point. I never got closer than 30 feet. I walked down to the 76 station and called 911. Turns out he was a suicide, which had crossed my mind when I saw him. Turns out he was a relative of a coworker of a friend. I never heard back, except my friend passed along his coworkers thanks for my handling of it, such as I did.

In november last year I woke up one morning for work around 4 am and found my girlfriend dead on the kitchen floor, she wasn't suffering from any illness and it was a total shock. The event will haunt my nightmares for the rest of my life...
I wouldn't want something like this to happen to my worst enemy. It was traumatizing and I have PTSD still. People, cherish and appreciate your loved ones every moment of your life. Each moment you spend with them is a blessing and forgive each other for all the pointless arguments because just having them alive and well is a blessing you don't understand until it's taken away from you.

One Christmas Eve I was driving home and there was something in the road on the highway. I had to slam on my breaks not to hit it and then the other 3 cars on the highway also stopped. I turned on my highbeems and was met with a woman all contorted slowly dying. She had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend and jumped out of the car. She was hit twice. It still haunts me. I just went over to her and tried to calm her down, but she knew she was dying. Her limbs were all going a different ways and there was blood everywhere.

Good points, but I think that there are two more aspects left out, that are worth thinking about in advance:
1) We, (in Europe), have recently had a bunch of robberies, where a fake body was placed on the street, or someone jumped out of a bush and caused a driver to stop. The worst case, I've heard was one lunatic, who beat a random person with a crowbar on the head and then dumped him on the street as bait! He was apparently interested in stealing a car.
2) while in general it is strongly advised to keep crime scenes undisturbed, even if you're not sure if it is one, there are cases where corpses are endangered by forces beyond your control. The most obvious one is animals munching at the corpse, but also tides, someone drifting in the water, or a corpse in a burning building. In some of these cases, you could save evidence, and in others, you could actually endanger yourself... On a related note, an acquaintance was stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident and there a motorcyclist was lying dead on the street, but no-one dared to move him, thinking that he might still be alive...

I've found bodies before, called 911 while checking for respiration and pulse. CPR is very time sensitive, start it immediately when you know it is necessary instead of waiting to be told to, as long as the scene is safe for you to act. As for contaminating a crime scene, limit moving anything or touching anything unless absolutely necessary, and take note of anything you touched or moved.

This reminds me of a story I saw that talked about some police officers going to a house for some reason, maybe a wellness check or something else.
Well there was a male and a female living there who were drug addicts, with garbage everywhere and dried blood all over the walls because they would squirt the blood out of their needles to reuse them.
Anyway, they go into one room and found the dead body of the guy's grandmother who was dead for months in the home.
The only reason why they didn't report the body was so they could keep getting her welfare checks to fuel their addiction.

Low-key surprised that simply acting like you saw nothing and walking away wasn't an option🤣

Years back there was a car parked outside my house, it was there for weeks. It was my brother's friend's brother's car, he died in said car during a VERY HOT summer. He was right outside my window, if I were to lookout my windows I saw it parked there for a week or so. I had no idea a guy died right outside my window, someone walking buy reported a horrible smell and something oozing out of the car door. It was extremely sad.

I found a dead body last week. We were getting off a boat at pier 39 in San Francisco. We stuck around long enough to get a dock worker to call it in, then watched the recovery afterwards. It didn’t make the news however, I guess it’s such a common occurrence that not all body recoveries are important enough to tell the public.

What if you're the one that put the dead body there? Could you do a video on how to dispose of it? In the next few hours would be great, I think my neighbors are getting suspicious.

I’m only here after I had this nightmare where it was a grim day and the sky was dark grey and I discovered a corpse whilst I was at work hanging from a tree branch with a rope tied around the neck. It looked like it had been dead for ages because it was stiff, indicating that it had been subjected to rigor mortis, and it was crawling with maggots and worms, and one of the eyeballs fell out. I remember calling the police on my cellphone via a non-emergency number in the dream. Good to know what to do if that hellish dream becomes reality.
