1:57-2:41 Can we all take a moment to envelop Dom De Luise's performance here? He managed to _manifest_ Itchy being at his vulnerable moment and he delivered it to be _the_ best amount of dialogue he can master in a Don Bluth film.

This scene was kinda grim and mean spirited but in a good way, what I love about this scene is the lack of music for most of it, too often movies (especially animated ones) try to force emotion down our throats with overly dramatic music as if we couldn't tell that the scene was supposed to be sad with the characters alone, this scene on the other hand doesn't have much music unless the characters speak for themselves, on top of the signature Don Bluth animation giving the scene a gritty atmosphere and darker colors to represent how bad the situation is for the characters.

Although they didn't outright animate the scence, but its greatly implied that the reason carface allowed itchy to escape was because he knew itchy would lead him to where charlie was hiding ann-marie, if he followed itchy, which is how she was abducted during the scence after she over hears charlie's confession.

When you think about it there is a lot of adulty stuff in the film that is not really for children.
1 - gambling (Carface, Itchy, Charlie and Marie)
2 - smoking (Carface) (Sure there are other scenes in the film too?)
3 - drinking/drunk (Charlie and Carface faking a party)
4 - using a child for person benefit (Charlie and Itchy)
5 - violent threats (Carface)

I really admire that unlike all the other characters dom deluise played before in Don bluth films, like Jeremy from the secret of nimh or tiger from an American tail, he plays Itchy, who’s not only comedic but has a lot of depth and emotion. You can tell from this performance, Dom Deluise was actually given a strong than before.

At 3:34, Charlie Barkin likes, "Oh... What have I done...!?" That's what Charlie felt guilty for what he have done for poor (3:27) Anne-Marie, who was crying after overhearing this and calls Charlie a bad dog. That's what she thinks Charlie is only pretending to be her best friend.
