I would add 1. Use the library as a free resource for knowledge, fun, hobbies. 2. The internet can be useful...it helped me learn how to replace a part on my car. As a woman I didn't want to get ripped off at the car dealership/service dept. They wanted to charge me $90.00 for 1/2 hour of service plus the cost of the part. I knew from the internet what the average cost of the part was. I also knew that replacement of the part was a 2 minute job per side of the car from the YouTube video. From start to finish it took me 6 minutes total (replacementand cleaning). I ordered that part and saved $90.00 in service fee and learned a new skill.😉

I would add the following ....
Become self sufficient Cook and Handy man.
Learn to cook dry beans and make a pot of it. Also make a pot of pasta sauce. Make a pot of soup. All these meals can be had multiple times per week. You don't need to have variety every day. Stop thinking of food as entertainment and think of food as sustenance.

Thanks for the helpful tips! I've started doing some of them before I watched this video, and I wanted to add one more thing my wife and I do to save money: spread out premium payments on insurance. We pay our auto insurance once every six months, which gives us a discount of $80 in the long run, and there's no insurance payments 10 months out of the year. We're also switching to 1 year payments on our term life insurance, which will save us even more than the car insurance in the long run

I keep my blinds closed in the summer. It is much cheaper to use led lights vs running the air conditioner even more.

My washing machine is weight sensitive so it only uses enough water to wash the size of load I have going.

We had bank day in elementary. I knew nothing about saving until then… I wish I could have done it in middle school and high school…😢

I am the queen of budgeting, and while I agree with a lot of your ideas, I also disagree with some, too. First, you should absolutely use a cash-back credit card instead of cash. Second, you should not get rid of a second car. The prices of new and used cars are skyrocketing. Third, it's probably not healthy to eat lots of high-carb processed foods and this can cost you more in the long run for medical bills. Foods like beans or peanut butter with protein are reasonably cheap. So are bananas.

Capsule wardrobe. Secondhand from yardsales in luxury neighborhoods or 75-90% off store sales. Meal planning and store sales. Turkey $0.49lb, ham $0.99lb, chicken quarters $0.48lb. Freeze, cook-debone-eat-freeze leftovers in meal size packs. Protein 4oz serving turkey/chicken $0.25, carb rice $0.15, veg $0.33= $0.73 a meal. Family of 4x$0.73=$2.92.

I used cloth diapers for my son for the first year or two. I used disposable as well. He was a hit! 🎉 not as successful with my daughter…had more responsibilities…😊

People don't like to hear this, but here goes.

Ina marriage, I'd one person works close enough to home to walk or ride a bike, the the family may be able to get by with one car.

That means less money is spent on insurance and registration fees, not to mention the gas, and just having fewer cars to buy and maintain.

You used to be able to buy things second hand, but the prices all went up and now its cheaper to buy at discount stores. Even big lots went bougie. Sigh.

The global economy is forecast to enter a recession in 2022. Families across the world will be looking for ways to cut costs and save money. One way to do this is by adopting frugal living tips.

Frugal living tips can help families save money in a number of ways. One way is by reducing the amount of money spent on unnecessary items. For example, instead of buying new clothes every season, families can shop second-hand or purchase items that can be reused or repurposed.

Another way frugal living tips can help families save money is by reducing the amount of money spent on food. This can be done by cooking at home more often, eating out less often, and buying in bulk when possible.

Families can also save money by reducing the amount of money spent on entertainment. This can be done by finding free or low-cost activities to do, such as going for walks, visiting parks, or renting movies from the library.

Stay prepared for the upcoming recession!
