To whoever may have a similar problem and didnt get what he means on 2.53 by "clean the link to the new version wherever this link is now going to"... I found the answer on how to update the link. It seems like when you click on the old link address - the new link address will appear in URL bar (which was a surprise for me because I didnt know that the link address may look differently before and after clicking on them). So just simply copy that new address from url bar and replace the old one. Thats it.
