I adore your style so I’m excited for the behind-the-scenes! Still trying to figure out how to find my own style but that takes time

I'm always so impressed by people who know a lot about photography and video editing because you can make a simple shot so special and satisfying to look at. When you explain just how you set your shot for this video I was like wow I would have never thought of that ! I love watching your videos while I crochet or drink tea, the vibes are just immaculate 🥰

Dustin, I love hearing your journey! I was in middle school when I fell in love with filming and took a class for it, but ultimately put my camera down because YouTube didn’t exist and there weren’t really any Asians in media. I’m just now picking it up at 36 which feels late… but I’d rather revive my dream than live with regret.

I hope anyone reading this is inspired to live your dream!!

i’ve been using pinterest to get into using angles and cinematic aspects. plus just a general vibe of what u like + being aware of what ur filming helps w making thumbnails.

Wow, really enjoyed the tips on color correction. I'm just starting out with my YouTube channel and figuring out my own editing style. Been using boost app social for my Instagram and TikTok game, it's awesome! Maybe they can add video editing next.

As someone who went to college for photography and film making I knew about colour correcting and it’s something I love playing around with yet that change between your raw footage and edited still shocked me 😅

you mentioned how you felt "less relatable" compared to your girl friends who make similar videos but for me you're the one who made me really interested in aesthetic film making as you took such a unique approach to it and you're my favourite youtuber who makes videos like these :)

i think the before/after of your color correction just scared me into paying more attention to it moving on. I'm often too lazy for it as i feel it doesnt make that big of a difference, but the warm / green color correct you give your videos makes it feel much more cozy and nice to watch :')

"I'm not a professional when it comes to color correcting"...BOMBASTIC SIDE EYE DUSTIN, criminal offensive gaslighting side eye😭

Got absolutely intrigued by the colour palette since the first time I came across your channel.

I use the canon m50 and I can say with confidence that the grain you see is from the kit lens. It has a 4.5 f stop so the amount of light it lets in is on the lower side. I switched it to the sigma 16 f1.2 for more light and to get the pretty blurry background. If you want a great small mic I’d recommend the movo VXR10. It’s a plug and play mic, no need to charge a battery and it’s pretty comparable to rode! Thanks for this video :) I don’t mess with color grading because I use a pretty simple video editing app called VLLO that a lot of vloggers I personally watch use and I like the colors I get from my canon camera already :) but these videos are always fun to watch thank you!

If the color-correcting bit aint the most relatable thing ever😂 I swear every time I stare at my screen too long my vision and sense of true tone distorts so I end up color-correcting way too warm or saturated without even realizing! It's always the next day when I'm watching it again when I'm like 🥲why did I make myself look like an oompa loompa

I can definitely see the inspo from Wes Anderson in your videos but it’s still very much your own style ~ giving coming of age story realness ~ Would be super cool to try and make a short film

honestly, with you feeling like you’re not as relatable as the female content creators, i feel as if the need for worry doesn’t exist..opposites attract & even by you being different, that gives people new and refreshing energy on a whole new perspective on life and THAT’S is what’s keeping them engaged
