UK sees staple food prices soar amid growing global crisis

Global food prices have hit an all-time high in recent months.
They are being driven upwards by the war in Ukraine, the pandemic and climate change.
This comes on top of surging energy prices and high inflation.
Al Jazeera's Neave Barker reports from London.

This sanction is causing great grief to the whole world thru soaring inflation. We don't need this unless the benefits for the politicians & leaders are completely removed so they can start living like most of us.

You also need to realize in 2007 the £ was almost $2.00... since commodites and international trade is done in $ the £ has devalued almost 40%. It is a under performing economy, lacks competitiveness, productivity, a burdening social welfare cost £269billion (2019 figures), a £2 Trillion national debt to name but few things. It is dying a slow death with inept politicians who must lie to get votes and people too unwilling to be told the truth.
At the same time rising economies make more demands on commodities (limited resources) fueling high prices. A western soceity unable to take a change in their status and downgrade and work bk up again.

High rent prices are the main problem, the cost of living crisis is just the housing affordabily crisis. I slight rise in food and fuel prices are a minor inconvenient compared to rent costs.

This is why from day one, instead of trying to fuel the war in Ukraine with sanctions, you should have push for a diplomatic outcome rather than military one
