It was hard to comprehend the quantity and quality at Japan Classic Sunday, held in Dorst, The Netherlands on 7th July 2024. It never disappoints!

Honda, Toyota, Datsun/Nissan, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Suzuki, Subaru and even Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo were represented as near-neighbours were also welcomed. We took our Perodua Kenari.

Also, apologies to @petrolpunx for getting the name wrong. Very HubNut...

I'd consider myself a car guy but I'm going to be honest, a good 70% of those cars I wouldn't know what is was without looking at the back! Great video Ian, thanks for standing there all day to capture them in such detail!

I'm just blown away by the sheer amount and diversity of the cars on show. Well done Ian for your huge effort to show us this with such a good grasp of the cars.
My head was spinning trying to take it all in, how the bloody hell you manage to give a commentary & film always staggers me 😊

How is it that I just enjoyed sitting here for over an hour, watching cars crawl into a field? Love your encyclopedic knowledge of it all. Thanks!

It was my 3rd visit this year and it was gorgeous ! It´s such a nice concept of a show. No BS, just meeting old friends, making new ones, see a incredible mix of cars. I was afraid they can´t find a new location and it was a relief when the news came in that they found a replacement that´s even bigger then the old one. I´ll be there next year again for sure.

Japanese cars of the 70's are wonderful but I took them for granted as a youngster.

Fantastic show, Ian. Quite the brainteaser rattling off all (well most) of the names like that. The vast majority looked to be in great condition in the care of loving owners. Thanks for taking the time and effort to get out there. Outstanding! Mart.

Completely mad! Who would have known you'd have a collection like that in that part of the world! Many were big sellers in Australia where Japanese cars are popular. Love the Hondas, Mazdas and Datsuns! Thanks for filming. Great treat!

The blue Datsun 1200 really highlights the relationship between BMC and DATSUN in the late 50's-to-60's. To me, in side-profile it looked like a Wolseley/Riley 1500 back-end had been grafted onto an Austin A55 Cambridge front-end. The front-profile and rear profile fit said models as well. Great and interesting video. Diolch mawr

Joy of joys, i love the contrast between the 70's styling and 80's styling, sweeping lines into geometric but both utterly charming !! Great vlog, and such a great event it seems

Incredible ! Amazing ! I am 63 and there are many cars I haven't seen one time specially those old Mazda RX. I drive Japanese cars since thirty years, first one was an Accord coupé with A/C and Hondamatic

I am Japanese.
I never thought I'd see a Nissan Cherry in this video.
I'm very surprised and impressed.
It was released when I was 9 years old, so it's a car from 53 years ago (1970).
The 1968 Mazda Luce 1800 and the first generation Mitsubishi Lancer and 1967-1978 Mazda Familia 1000 are also very rare cars these days.
The Mazda 626 was sold in Japan under the name Capella.

Old Japanese cars are popular in the USA too, but many of them have been modified.
It's nice to see that in Europe they are preserved in their original form.

This is just my personal guess, but I think Mitsubishi Motors started selling cars under the name "Colt" because anti-Japanese sentiment was strong at the time in 1971 and they wanted to avoid the name "Mitsubishi, " which was a military manufacturer.
That was the year the Emperor and Empress visited Belgium, Britain, West Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland for the first time since the war, in an effort to restore friendly relations.
