The greatness of IITs comes from the students as they pass through a very competitive exam. It is not that of the institute itself, IITs are not admitting mediocre students and turning them into brilliant students, they are already accumulating the best in the country!!

I think it's easy to say these things that something is not important when they have already achieved things that our students dream of. When u dont achieve the goal for which u have sacrificed everything then u feel the importance

If someone wants know the value of an IIT ask the one who has graduated from an non IIT college... He will tell u better... The one's who has already been in IIT would never know how different they are from the rest of tier 2 and tier 3 colleges... Because they have been grinding so much during the process that they don't understand what changes they have achieved

Bhai.. Mai MBBS me hoon and I know what impact it makes when you clear competitive exams… it will totally change you… your friends … your confidence level…. Your belief in yourself… and surety that your life will be above average…. So study hard instead of giving excuses…

As I am studying in IIT, so I can definitely say that the environment which iit provides throughout 4 years, I think that helps you more in identifying your potential

The fact that a lot of actors, singers, stand up comedians etc have all these degrees says more about our society than anything else.

Imho. Nobody talks about this often...

Engineering from top colleges of Tier 1 cities is more beneficial.
You get to live the whole engineering life. A well rounded network of people can be established, not just engineering background.
If you want to really build something there is always an incubation centre just around the corner.

Sadly, most of the students are too depressed to explore coz they didn't get into IIT.
Then they go abroad and do really well. So yeah 😇

Its all about the education quality. Iit has the best education and other institutions doesnt have that kind of calibre. It has highly scholar mentors as compared to other institutions. Gaining knowledge from mentors who are the authors of highly productive research papers makes the difference.
I think government need to bring change in the education system. I have included some points that can be considered:-
1. Practical education should be more as compared to theories.
2. Education syllabus should regularly updates yearly according to the industry demand.
3. Other institutions education quality should be improved as equal to the iit. From this way the hype of to be in the iit will be removed.

I don’t understand why people and the media in India go gaga over people from IIT or IIM.
You don’t see the media or the people in The USA or The UK going gaga over Stanford/MIT or Oxbridge graduates. Substance and what you do overall matters.
