I would like to point out that filters are actually more efficient the smaller the particle is. I know this doesn't make any sense to most people, but all filters are tested out with 0.3-micron particles because those are the most penetrative. How's this even possible? Particle physics.

0.3 microns is the limit between normal particle movement and Brownian particle movement. So, in practice, 0.3 microns is actually the smallest possible particle size, and anything under 0.3 microns is in practice, bigger than 0.3 microns.

Wow, slow down Biologist. How can something smaller be bigger? Are particles using Timelord technology?

Back to Brownian movement: Particles smaller than 0.3 microns are so ridiculously tiny that they bounce off of molecules and atoms, pinballing around instead of pushing molecules away, which, in practice, make those very tiny particles behave like a larger one. On top of all that, atomic and ionic interactions, gravity and many other forces that barely affect bigger stuff, have a lot of influence on those tiny particles, making it even harder from them to pass through a filter.

So yeah, smaller viruses have a harder time going through filters than bigger ones.

How long could you continue to use these P3 filters? how do you know if the filter is losing it's effectiveness?

Will it depend on the environment that you're in? or until breathing becomes laboured ?

I bought two 6-packs of these in April May 2020 for my mask. September2020 my next upgrade was a PAPR System. Which greatly increased comfort level. These filters are also able to be used in a PAPR System. Just helped out on such a costly upgrade.

I am a medical doctor and I will be taking care of Corona + patients at my intermediate care station soon.. they are only giving FFP 2 maskes and those don't fit my fat face and at only good for a short time.. I need some thing long lasting.... For how many hours can it be used precisely? Rotating is a good idea but I will need it for at least 2 months 🤷🏻‍♂️

A mask is all well and good, but it's important for everyone to know that it alone will do nothing for you if someone coughs on or near you, and you touch it later without disinfecting or throwing out your clothes.

Realistically, most people aren't going to have a suit that provides a full seal over the mask, let alone the mask itself. And in the event that they do, most of those people won't properly disinfect or disinfect at all.

One Question i would like to know before i buy a Gas Mask..Do You Need To alway have Two Filter Attach Or Could you Wear it For protection With Only One Filter Attach, Thanks.

I wonder when those filters clog if you can soak them in a light soap water bucket to clean them, then into a distilled water (no minerals) as a rinse, let them dry and use again. Maybe the filters wold degrade being wet for a long time but considering they are rated to get wet that could be a way to get more use in a SHTF situation.

FYI the "R" doesn not stand for Reusable. "R" is OIL RESISTANT" Wonders how you came up with reusable when basically Mira doesn't say it is. Based on you footage I did some checking, because that just didn't sound correct. You have people buying that filter thinking they can reuse it. Please make the correction.

awesome mask. I'm currently wearing a 3M 6500 series respirator and people are already giving me a strange look haha. Couldn't imagine with a full face mask. Eitherway, I'd definitely rock this!

Great video. One question though.. how would i know when the filter needs to be changed? How do you calculate a full day of usage especially when you are not constantly in an infected area?
