This video should be required viewing for every one in CA who is in the fire 'danger zone'. Need to know stuff here.

Thank you for putting this type of content out for the ordinary citizen prepper. I have enjoyed watching and learning from your channel.

Be sure to try on your goggles when using a half face respirator.
My first choice of goggles didn't work at all with the mask on.

Face masks are an absolute, but maybe go over, cover filters for your home. I have a room filter using a hepa filter, but it only will filter one average bedroom. So have a room picked out that you can gather the family and maybe sleep in. Keep snacks, games, etc. handy.

Good video. One consideration. I have several gas masks for members of my family and we use two filters not one. I have found that if your just sitting around one filter is fine but once you become physically active you breathing can be restricted with one filter. With two you can even run for short periods with no problems. Also everyone should try their masks and do a preliminary fit and address any fit or comfort issues now.

I shall add that, after the experience of the Rockton fire two weeks ago, having on hand a good respirator with combined all gases P100 filter(s) is not useless when you live even at 10 - 20 miles from a chemical facility.

Thanks for this .. most people have no idea because it's not like things pop up much that require these things... Also, happy to see you are safe -- I checked your channel a few times and saw you haven't posted.. and I am happy to see you are okay out there.. Thank you for all you have taught my 8-year-old son and me.

I live in an arra with a moderate risk of wildfires. We have had a few small wildfires, and some of us, neighbors, have decided to organize a first response firefighting brigade. We have just bought full face respirators, with P100 filters, as well as firefighter helmets and clothing.

Last year you could see the ash in the air and covered everything. These are very good for this.

Kris, I hope you and your family stay safe this fire season!

Respirators (especially full face ones) are always a good thing to keep on hand just in case. I don't live in an area where wild fires are an issue, we routinely clear burn on the regular here in Texas so large scale fires aren't an issue, but I still have one ready to go.

Thank you, I learned so much from this. Take care✌

The two filter threads for the full face masks are not really for less resistance. They are for switching filters. At least that's the case in the military. They are slowly moving to two holed masks for swapping without having to hold your breath

Didn't realize the P3R would protect against smoke thought it was just for viruses. Thanks for the info

As always, thank you for the video. My father and I have been thinking about masks. This has helped me narrow down what I want in my EDC and what I will need for an emergency.

I have had the actual glass n the full face respirators ground to my specific eye prescription. This good for as my eyes have stopped changing. However, if someone else tries to use my respirator I may be responsible for making the blind with my very strong prescription.

I just bought a Parcil PT-100 full face piece respirator. It is a step down from a gas mask. If I am in an area where I am in need of a gas mask, I am doing things wrong and am in a true world of hurt. The aforementioned respirator uses proprietary filters which are fairly cheap. The filters are rated equilavent to an N95 standard and also filter out acid gases. However, the respirator can also use more common bayonet style filters (3M) by unscrewing the gray proprietary filter adapter. The propriety filters are slightly cheaper than the bayonet ones aside from particulate only models like the P100 models you showed.

I do not live in an area prone to forest fires. Forest fires are not a huge concern to me.
