Horowitz plays Scriabin phenomenally, he is the greatest among the greatest of pianists! Scriabin would be very proud!

Scriabin's Etudes are so full of volume and harmonic development and expanses....they have such stately beauty

Hearing Horowitz play Scriabin is what sold me on both the composer and the interpreter. Vers la Flamme is what did it for me.

Unglaublich. Dieser über 80-jährige Mann spielt das Stück so, wie er es 20 Jahre oder vielleicht sogar 30 Jahre zuvor spielte. Welche Kraft, welche Schönheit, welche Perfektion in seinem Spiel. Einer der ganz, ganz Großen.

In my opinion and many others....the greatest pianists of the 20th Century. His association with other great pianists is truly a testament of his commitment to his respect for the craft.

ha ha he looks so pleased with himself when he gets up from the piano... probably saying "thank God I got through that again!"

I love how he deviates so much from the sheet and still makes this piece amazing.

Is it correct that he was 83 years old when he played this concert?

Horowitzn was in his 80's at this point, and it's a wonder that he could even perform this. I prefer other Horowitz recordings of this, notably the Carnegie Hall recital in early 1968, but the man was also much younger then.

Seguro que es mejor pianista de siglo 20.

!Absolutamente estremecedor: tanto la obra como el intérprete, que no son más que una unidad consubstanciada!

Notice how horowitz was the best at playing quietly??? Nowadays not many pianists play the piannisisimo. Horowitz was able to play a pianisisisisimo, and people could still hear it. He seldom uses the bass as a percussion

One or two clinkers, but still amazing.

А я не считаю что это самое лучшее исполнение. На мой вкус какое-то рваное. Должно нести как цунами, мягко, с еле уловимыми перекатами. А здесь толчками. Но Горовица люблю все равно.
